Ocean Industry Forum Oslofjord is the Oslo chapter of "Maritimt Forum". It's a not-for profit association with an aim to encourage innovation in the ocean industries and to support ocean start-ups and help them become scale-ups. Most of the maritime, offshore and other ocean industries are in big need of innovation, and we have a small, but significant enough role to play in that respect. Our goal is to fix the issues with IT recruitment by challenging the role WE used to have for many years. The issues are that:1. It's hard to know who's best for a job because we rely on manual evaluations based on CV-descriptions.2. It's even harder to know where you can find the best candidates because it's time consuming and expensive to track and promote on all platforms.Now, the easiest solution is to hire a recruitment agency (like we used to be), and receive candidates from their private database. We worked together in Microsoft and often discussed how to address daily tasks through the use of new technologies. Interaction with machines is constantly changing. Automation is increasing, but the number of machines we interact with is also increasing. These conditions require new and easier ways of interacting with machines to allow more people to control a greater number of machines with less effort and training. That’s why we are ushering in a new paradigm of control systems. Ntention are building a system of interaction between the people and the machines that are user-centered – not machine centered. The machine will understand the user – not the other way around. Our goal is to understand the intent of the user and translate it into machines. This is how we are moving beyond motion capture and into the world of intention capture.
