Hive Initiative

The Hive Initiative is creating tools to help companies integrate adaptation and mitigation efforts within their organisation through design-thinking workshops and implementation frameworks. As our planet warms and ecosystems continue to change, businesses will be increasingly required to make meaningful- and reportable- changes. As most people do not have a background in environmental science, it can be challenging to understand the full picture and how roles can be adapted. And while sustainability courses and seminars convey knowledge, it remains challenging to keep the energy high, the culture empowered, and the knowledge put into practice. The Hive Initiative’s Mini Climate Summit makes it easy to address these challenges. It brings employees together in real time to learn science-based facts and then gives them a forum to collaborate on solutions. With ideas captured and implemented, KPIs are met, ESG requirements are fulfilled and culture is strengthened. The result: more minds that help make company sustainability more active, enabled and empowered, which in turn makes society more educated and resilient. We are a group of people with high levels of climate anxiety- but also high levels of optimism. We want to use our skills in design and communication to make it easier for everyone to stay educated, hopeful and empowered, which will make it much easier for all of us to adapt to our changing world. As the founder, I wanted to work on solutions every day, and did so while having a day job. After 4 years, myself and my collaborators have built up a good product prototype, solid relationships with other climate orgs, and solid vision of what we hope to achieve. So it was the right time to focus on this fully. I really do believe that all of us want a world that is fair for everyone and is in harmony nature. We just have to figure out how to get there.

SOREN Hydrogen (Formerly POWELY)

At SOREN we believe that full decarbonisation is possible with Green Hydrogen along with electrification, energy efficiency and renewables. We have built a robust digital planning tool to fast-forward Green Hydrogen projects and accelerate the transition to net zero. We are an Oslo-based startup with a diverse team spread across Oslo, Barcelona & Mallorca.

Kvikk Forsikring

Kvikk is a B2C Insurtech company disrupting the travel insurance sector through our mobile platform. Designed with millennials, Gen Z and their expectations in mind, our vision is clear: 
Revolutionizing the way we protect ourselves while exploring the world. We are leveraging GEO-fencing technology to distribute, personalize and offer quotes tailored to your location in real-time. No more hassle with paperwork or waiting in line. We are 100% digital and are providing a full insurance experience in the pockets of everyone leaving their homes. In Norway 50% of all young adults don't have travel insurance, and they perceive insurance as complicated, expensive and unavailable. At the same time, the insurance industry lacks digitisation with only 40% of all insurance sales taking place on a digital platform. We have developed travel insurance tailored to the specific needs of each traveller, all within a convenient and user-friendly app. By harnessing the power of GEO-fencing we ensure travellers receive seamless coverage when and where they need it, offering a level of flexibility unseen in the industry. We have built the insurance product, and we are going to build the app. Simen started working on Kvikk while studying Innovation & Management, and has previously been travelling around the world several times and do understand the importance of travel insurance. We honestly believe that insurance companies should do better. In this digital world, insurance should be more available for the customer. There should be possible to buy insurance, get an overview and file claims within minutes, and always available in your own pocket. We also believe in fair and transparent products, where the customer actually gets a personalised products tailored to their own travel pattern. We want to rewrite the rules of insurance by making it available, fair, easy and personalised.

Lingu AS

The story of Lingu started in the non-profit organization KIA which works with integration and Norwegian language teaching. The founders Edward Milsom and Odd Bjerga worked in this organization and came into contact with skilled and resourceful people from many different countries. The idea of ​​Lingu arose in this context of migration and communication, and human talents. The website lingu.no was launched on 16 December 2008, and our first language course started on KIA's premises in January 2009, with course providers from KIA's network. Disruptive Engineering enables more effective planning, management, and monitoring of road networks. Proprietary sensor hardware 'made in Norway'Use AI and neural networks for detailed classification of vehicles. Privacy-by-design solution ensuring that no personal data is stored or shared. With traffic expected to grow by 60% by 2050, and with congestion and safety already being an issue, there is a pressing need to utilize road networks more efficiently. We make smart collection systems for the circular economy. Helping companies get their circular products back from consumers. So that the products can be reused, refurbished or recycled. Think reverse vending machines for bottles and cans- but for other products, and with a twist of cutting edge technology and beautiful design. We’re an early phase start-up based in Oslo, collaborating with some of the largest companies in the world, helping them transition from linear to circular. We are located at StartupLab at Oslo Science Park, the epicentre of Norway’s tech start-up scene.
