Silicon Valhalla

Silicon Valhalla is a Nordic tech intelligence hub that maps startups, founders, investors, and market signals across the Nordic region, with a particular emphasis on AI, SaaS, and frontier innovation. It exists to make the “Silicon Valhalla” ecosystem - Nordic tech’s answer to Silicon Valley - more visible, navigable, and investable for founders, operators, and capital. The platform combines a curated startup directory, an events calendar, and ecosystem insights into a single, neutral entry point for Nordic tech. Startups and scaleups get structured profiles highlighting what they do, where they are based, which sector they play in, and how to reach them, while investors and partners can quickly scan emerging companies across AI, climate, fintech, deep tech, and more. A continuously updated view of companies and activity aims to surface momentum early, so users can spot new categories, breakout teams, and upcoming fundraising stories before they hit the mainstream. Silicon Valhalla is designed to be independent and ecosystem-first rather than a job board or paywalled database. The service is currently free to use, making discovery accessible while opening the door for future premium offerings such as featured profiles, highlighted events, and deeper signal products for investors and corporates. In short, Silicon Valhalla is building the default map and narrative for Nordic tech: a living overview of the startups, talent, and ideas turning the region into one of the most dynamic innovation hubs in Europe.

Cadran

We are an early-stage company developing retail software for the global watch and jewellery industry. Our customers work with high-value objects, but often rely on generic systems not designed for their industry. We develop a specialized platform for operations and documentation that improves efficiency and transparency without compromising quality.

Archie

Archie is reimagining how buildings get designed and built. We’re creating the AI project brain for architecture and construction - a single place where architects, engineers, and contractors can work smarter, cut through complexity, and keep every decision on track. Our goal is simple: make building projects faster, more sustainable, and a lot less stressful.

ABchar

ABchar is developing a new type of pyrolysis reactor, affordable heating and the possibility of small-scale biochar production, adapted to agriculture.. This will help achieve the goal of a 40% reduction in emissions from the agricultural sector. What is pyrolysis? Simply put, this is the heating of an organic material without access to oxygen. This leads to a series of reactions that ultimately result in 3 main products; biochar, oil and gas. We want to utilize the biochar in this process. The oil and gas will be burned and the heat from this will be used to dry grain, heat barns, greenhouses, residential buildings and other things that need heat on a farm. Why pyrolysis and biochar? Plants absorb CO2 from the air around us through photosynthesis. They are actually extremely good at this too. The residual product is mainly oxygen and the plant material. The great thing about pyrolysis is that we are able to separate water, oxygen and hydrogen from the plant material and we are left with more or less pure carbon 80% +. This is carbon from the air! If we take this coal and spread it on our agricultural land, it will be stored there for up to 1000 years and perhaps longer. In some cases, the soil will become more fertile and less vulnerable to periods of too much or too little water.

REspire

Respire is a Norwegian venture studio focused on building companies within the energy transition and sustainability. We work hands-on from early problem exploration through company formation and early growth, typically partnering closely with founders as active co-builders. Our team brings experience from energy, industry, startups, and venture building, and we believe a systematic approach gives better odds in complex, capital-intensive domains. We build a small number of ventures at a time and take a long-term view. Respire contributes sector insight, structured venture development, access to relevant networks, and in-house capacity for early MVP development. We work with entrepreneurs who want real ownership and responsibility, and who are motivated by solving concrete problems in energy and green industry rather than chasing hype. We’re based at RE Gründerhus in Asker, a hub for sustainable innovation, and are now scaling the studio.

Vandre

Vandre is a young Norwegian tech company with the ambition to impact the environmental situation by making textile brands succeed in reducing their footprint by making clothes and garments live longer. The world’s garbage piles are growing. In 2021, 40.000 tons of used fashion clothes ended up in the Atacama desert in Chile as their final destination. This is just one example of how the textile industry is not even close to being sustainable. The sports and textile industries face strict requirements and a major upheaval, when the EU is planning to introduce sustainability reporting and requirements to offer consumers repair of products in 2025. Our platform connects brands in the industry with certified repair centres and facilitates a seamless user journey with logistics and payment options. The platform is also a sought-after tool at repair centres, as it helps to make their daily operations more efficient. We have currently launched in Norway, and plan to expand to the rest of the Nordics and beyond in the future. Our HQ is in a co-working space office in downtown Oslo – a two-minute walk from Nationaltheatret, where we share office with a small PE fund, and have lunch break together with. We also have employees in other cities working remotely. As a small team, some of us are quite often on the go and strive to stick to our digital workplace practices as much as possible. This enables the whole team to work quite flexibly when needed, together with some well-appreciated face time at the office as often as possible. Today the team is communicating openly using Slack and ClickUp to organise daily work and product development. There you will feel the motivating and active vibe from the other team members, our CEO Henriette, and our always-on-the-go working Chairman and brand relationship manager Simen. We are still a small team, but team spirit we have and everyone is highly motivated to make a difference in the world and help grow Vandre to reach it's full potential. Our culture is built on trust, freedom and humour. As most team members work from home most of the time, we always strive to be available during the working hours, and prioritise weekly meetings to stimulate the team spirit being a partly remote team. In addition we believe in a high level of freedom for each colleague to find their own optimal w/l balance. Prioritising a run before lunch or picking up kids in the afternoon is all up to the individual colleague. You know best what works for you. Finally our culture is also characterised by a high level of humour, with lots of laughs and a good vibe between team members. Our team today consists of passionate and skilled people representing deep industry knowledge and experience. We are constantly open-minded scouting for entrepreneurs with a varied skill sets with the proper drive to take us forward, together with a few dedicated roles (as below). We are looking for employees who always strive to develop themselves and our organisation. We expect you to be committed and eager and to have the ability to work in teams. Working at Vandre you join our effort to create a better and more sustainable textile industry, you will be part a highly dedicated and ambitious team with great and talented colleagues who love their job, and last but not least you will have fun at work.

Empire AI

Empire AI is a company founded by workspace consultants with over a decade of experience in developing office buildings. Through our work, we noticed that the office planning process is characterized by gut-feelings, guesswork and outdated benchmarks. This results in suboptimal office space that has massive amounts of unused space - an average of 80-90% of chairs and 50-60% of rooms remain empty during work hours in a typical office building today. Simultaneously, employees are complaining they do not have the necessary rooms and support their work. To address this issue, we created Empire AI. Empire's software is designed to transform the way you plan and manage your office space, making office buildings more space efficient, sustainable, and people-centric. Our machine learning models can predict how your office space will be used, allowing you to make informed decisions before you even begin building. With our software, you'll be able to identify which rooms and areas will be most useful and which will be less so, ensuring optimal utilization of your space. It can be used for building specifications, scenario planning, monitoring and improving existing office space and to predict utilization before building the space. Our recommendations are based on years of research and data, so our customers can be confident that they're making the right choices.
