Respire is a Norwegian venture studio focused on building companies within the energy transition and sustainability. We work hands-on from early problem exploration through company formation and early growth, typically partnering closely with founders as active co-builders. Our team brings experience from energy, industry, startups, and venture building, and we believe a systematic approach gives better odds in complex, capital-intensive domains. We build a small number of ventures at a time and take a long-term view. Respire contributes sector insight, structured venture development, access to relevant networks, and in-house capacity for early MVP development. We have developed travel insurance tailored to the specific needs of each traveller, all within a convenient and user-friendly app. By harnessing the power of GEO-fencing we ensure travellers receive seamless coverage when and where they need it, offering a level of flexibility unseen in the industry. We have built the insurance product, and we are going to build the app. Simen started working on Kvikk while studying Innovation & Management, and has previously been travelling around the world several times and do understand the importance of travel insurance. We honestly believe that insurance companies should do better. In this digital world, insurance should be more available for the customer. There should be possible to buy insurance, get an overview and file claims within minutes, and always available in your own pocket. We also believe in fair and transparent products, where the customer actually gets a personalised products tailored to their own travel pattern. We want to rewrite the rules of insurance by making it available, fair, easy and personalised.

RESPINOR is a privately-owned medical device company, founded in Oslo, 2015. We have developed an objective measure of breathing for critically ill patients within intensive care. The technology provides precise, continuous and real-time information of diaphragm function, our main breathing muscle, to increase the quality of care and reducing costs. RESPINOR’s technology is the winner of Horizon 2020 both in phase I and II. We are addressing an unmet medical need because every breath counts.

Game-changing technology for structural integrity monitoring. The Ferrx FEMM (Ferrx ElectroMagnetic Method) has been developed and tested for 2 decades, first by SINTEF and since 2005 by Ferrx. The method has provided unique features for the condition monitoring of steel structures. Material deterioration can be directly measured and early warning of risk for fatigue can be established long before any crack is detectable. Furthermore, the same sensors can also measure changes in metal loss, and thus provide for non-intrusive monitoring of internal corrosion and erosion in pipes. During the last years, instrumentation technology has been industrialized and the first commercial systems have been delivered and installed. Different types of instrumentation systems are available both for onshore and offshore/subsea applications. The industrialization, marinization, and production of the instrumentation systems are being done in cooperation with the most specialized suppliers. Ferrx is an independent company located in Trondheim, Norway with the business idea to provide the FEMM technology for different onshore and offshore markets to monitor the actual condition of steel structures and thus prevent loss of assets and pollution of the environment. The FEMM is protected by 2 patents and all rights are vested in Ferrx. The system for riser inspection has been qualified by DNV-GL in accordance with DNV-RP-A203 Technology Qualification.

Based in Kongsberg - the heart of the Subsea Valley - Kongsberg Ferrotech is utilizing world-leading competence to develop the first-ever automated solution, the Oktapous, for riser cleaning, NDT inspection, maintenance (coating), and structural repair (glass/carbon fiber reinforcement). The repair will be performed inside the patented Habitat - allowing for composite repairs subsea and in the splash zone while offering quality as if the repair was performed in a laboratory environment. The Oktapous will offer the client around 50% cost reduction, together with improved quality and significantly reduced HSE risk compare to existing solutions by removing the need for rope access, divers, and ROVs. Kongsberg Ferrotech is partly funded by the Malaysian-based oil and gas company, Petronas Charigali. This ensures us access to the market needs during development, an offshore platform for prototype testing, and the critical first client for market acceptance.
