A global movement to make it fun & easy to break the ice between people to find true love, friendships, and social activities with an optimal mix of high-tech & high-touch organized as a Master Franchise. The top management team at Wilh. Wilhelmsen ASA bought the idea in 2006 as a social benefit. Love & Friendship locally & globally - health & peace! Personal matchmaking, online dating, friendships, mingling! Improving relationship health! Several statistics underline the challenges of the modern world: 50 % or more are single. 50 % are cheating. 50 % or more break up or divorce. 25 % on sick leave as a result of a relationship breakup. Low libido is now a public health problem. 48 % have only one friend, but not a reliable one in a crisis. 50 % of the population wants more friends. We become more sick from our private lives than our work lives (Modesta Olsen, 2007), and the modern family is the most common family structure (Almendingen, 2010). Which social structures can survive the strain of losing the qualities of faithfulness, honesty, and decency? Cynicism becomes our defense. Depression and feelings of emptiness are the prices we pay. Giving hugs, care, and trust to others not only bring greater happiness - it can also lead to better business. Icebreakercard.com is a new world movement to solve these social challenges. It fights for its vision: Love and friendship locally and globally! Our big goal is to improve your life quality. As social entrepreneurs, we are called the fourth sector which cooperates with the other three: private, public, and civic (Ellis, 2006) with an optimal mix of high tech & high touch! In this paper, I will present my research findings in the Western world (mainly Norway and USA) and my part of the solution as a social entrepreneur of Icebreakercard.com. A social entrepreneur has been described as our time's hero and heroines. We create solutions where none of the sectors have succeeded well enough. Bad relationships lead to health problems in the population across age and gender. Mental health conditions are now the key concern in all of the OECD countries. The employer and the community take the economic bill when the employee is on sick leave. The disease is a private matter, but absence is not. Layn

Layn has developed a mobile-based digital queueing system that enables businesses to increase customer satisfaction by adding a mobile platform to the customer journey. People hate standing in line in stores, at amusement park attractions, electrical charging points, hospitals, and restaurants. The list goes on. By using Layn, the customer can wait for the service where they want, postpone a ticket, use a Fastlane, VIP ticket, or Future ticket to get to the service they need as fast as possible. Layn has developed a cloud platform that lets businesses use whatever hardware they would like to solve their use case. The platform is flexible and extremely adaptable. There are cases with pure mobile to mobile operations, but there are also cases with touchscreen and digital signage solutions delivered by our partners. For some customers, we integrate the solution with access gates and existing operational systems to get the desired customer journey. Users can either get a paper ticket or use their mobile device to get an electronic ticket. We spend all our time developing a solution that is as intuitive, easy, and smart to use as possible. We aim at reducing the relative time felt waiting. In 2019 the two founders took a family trip to Paris to visit the Eiffel tower. After spending 2 hours in line to get through security and pay for their tickets, they had to go back at the end of the line again to wait for the rest of the family members. Like most people, they hate standing in line. They wanted to create a solution where they instead of physically having to stand in line rather could sit down and have a drink while waiting for their turn in the "digital line". After that, the number of use-cases has just exploded.

Right now, we have a one-off shop on our website, but we are going to be moving to a subscription model where every two months you get an excellent pack of snacks, chocolates, chips, healthy snacks from Norway and other countries in Scandinavia.

Pinovo AS

Pinovo AS is a Norwegian scale up that has developed, patented, proven and commercialised surface maintenance technology that stops Ocean Paint Microplastic emissions. Ocean Paint Microplastic emissions are a large but little known problem that we estimate could be generating between 1.5m and 2.25m tonnes of ocean pollution each year (https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2020/09/how-to-reduce-microplastics-from-paint/). Pinovo has developed a clean, circular dustless grit blasting solution, which stops these emissions and which is also up to 60% more cost efficient than the traditional methods of surface maintenance for spot blasting.

The Digital Gardener

The Digital Gardener is a planning tool and gardening community for small-scale vegetable producers and home gardeners. We help growers plan what to grow, as well as when, where and how to grow it, so that they can focus on making their plants thrive. The demand for locally produced, sustainable food is increasing. Despite this, small-scale vegetable producers struggle to make an income. Predictable supply is essential to make efficient use of available market channels for direct to consumer sales, and a good plan is a key prerequisite to achieve this. The Digital Gardener aims to help small scale producers achieve the needed predictability by making it easy to create and maintain a good plan, and by helping them keep on top of work to be done throughout the growing season. The interest in gardening and homesteading has also surged during the corona crisis. Unfortunately, many aspiring home gardeners lack the needed growing competence to succeed with their gardening projects. Ambitious homesteaders face similar challenges as professional growers, as they need a good plan to ensure that they can harvest fresh produce for their family throughout the season. The Digital Gardener aims to help all growers succeed with their gardening projects, and will enable them to share information and experience to help and inspire others to succeed as well. The Digital Gardener is a software company. Our goal is to build software that contributes to an increase in the amount of food that is grown locally, as well as increased biodiversity in green spaces and home gardens. We partner with other organisations, people and companies that provide competence, heirloom seeds, tools and methods that can help us achieve this goal.

Naardic

Naardic is an online gym. We focus on interactive classes - you see the trainer, but the trainer also sees you. Naardic is a fusion of fitness and tech. We are developing our own video conferencing system to get that next level user experience of online training. Our market is divided between private customers and corporate customers. The sale of private memberships started in august 2020 and corporate memberships started in November 2020. So far we have about 2000 paying members and grow very fast. Our corporate customers include some of the largest Norwegians companies like Tine, Crayon, Tryg, Schibsted ++. We have 20+ trainers working for us and about 15 live and interactive classes every day. Our trainers are regarded as the top fitness trainers in Norway.
