NAUST Robotics upgrades agriculture with autonomous drones. The main problem we are solving is bird damage on farms, which can easily be 50-70% if the land is close to the water. As current bird scaring techniques are ineffective in the long run, farmers are exposed to damage, losing over 50.000 EUR per 100 Ha (wheat fields). We solve this with an autonomous drone flying over the fields, equipped with speakers. Emitting special sounds that birds recognize as danger, we will push them out of the crops, back to natural areas where they can feed without conflict. A landing platform laying on the field will recharge and shelter the drone, allowing the whole system to operate autonomously. Furthermore, the user will be able to check the real time status and modify the settings from our mobile app! Additionally, in the future we aim to equip special cameras on the bottom of the drone to collect high quality periodical images for crop monitoring practices. This will lead to save time and resources for the farmer, such as tons of chemical pesticides thrown to the field without knowledge. Our vision is to implement affordable autonomous drone solution to automate simple tasks and save time for society.

We help take 90% of the work out of stock taking by using cameras mounted on forklifts and AI to process the results. We help reduce claims stemming from damaged goods by 10-40% by monitoring the loading operations, thus providing our customers comprehensive image data with which to negotiate claims. We help increase the average fill rates of trailers and containers 5-15% by providing real-time insight into actual fill rates, which also reduces CO2 emissions. We make it our mission to optimize shipment management and make it as quick, easy and affordable for businesses as possible, by exploiting digital opportunities and technologies. The company was founded in 2014, under the name Pakkelabels.dk. After existing for only 3 years, in 2017, we rounded 15,000 business customers, thus becoming the largest freight booking platform in Denmark. It was during this time that we saw that companies outside Denmark had same needs regarding shipping, that we already had a solution for. We decided therefore that we would make our platform available in other countries aw sell, so we could help even more companies with their day-to-day challenges. After a year and a half of hard work and extensive preparations, we were finally ready to launch internationally in May 2019. We changed our name from Pakkelabels.dk to Shipmondo and launched Shipmondo.com. Now, we help more than 50.000 business in Europe making order and freight management as easy as possible.

Our software tool provides predicted properties of (bio) chemicals based on data-driven algorithms and quantum chemistry, which helps to reduce the number of experiments in R&D. Every (bio)chemical process or product needs physico-chemical properties (e.g. solubility, density) data to simulate unit operations and flowsheets of chemical manufacturing processes. Also, the formulation of products such as more sustainable solvents or more efficient materials need property calculations for designing these products. Scientists and engineers at biotech companies usually fail to develop and simulate new processes and products because: (I) the experimental data for specific molecules are not available, (II) no physical property models have been developed for the desired compounds which give satisfiable predictions, (III) measurements are too time- and material-consuming to perform. MQS has developed a software which provides novel property prediction models based on machine learning and quantum chemistry (Figure 1), in which the input from experiments can be reduced or is negligible. Therefore the number of experiments, material, labour and time are saved which translates to reducing R&D costs in a 407 billion $ industry [1,2,3].
