Global Startup Awards (Part of XO Group)

Global Startup Awards (GSA) was born out of the Danish startup ecosystem through the Nordic Startup Awards in 2012. What began as a regional initiative has grown into the world’s largest independent startup competition platform, now covering 154 countries across 19 regions. Through its competition framework and flagship events, GSA connects startups, investors, corporates, governments, and ecosystem enablers to showcase and accelerate innovation on both regional and global levels. GSA has offices in Copenhagen and Budapest and works closely with governments, investors, and business partners worldwide. Its model operates through a licensee-and-partnership structure, in which external organisations under the GSA framework lead several regional programs. Beyond competitions, GSA has evolved into a global innovation platform spanning multiple pillars — from events and content to data, insights, and venture partnerships — that drives collaboration between the public and private sectors to strengthen innovation ecosystems around the world.

Portchain

Portchain is a Danish startup founded in 2017 by three McKinsey project managers, who believed that the enormous advances in processing power and algorithms could be used to help carrier and terminal planners find optimal solutions to the toughest problems in the shipping industry. Combining simple and intuitive UX design with advanced mathematics and cutting edge web technologies, Portchain unleashes the power of AI to create a step change in operational performance for shipping companies.  Headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, Portchain has a diverse team with many different nationalities and backgrounds. Legaldesk.dk

Legal Desk is bringing automation to the legal industry in order to democratize the drafting of legal documents. We combine our knowledge and experience with law with the potential of technology to offer our customers a valuable alternative to the traditional lawyer service. Our intelligent software asks the same questions that a lawyer would and automatically generates your legal document ready for signature. We offer legal documents for private use as well as business. We offer our products and services within family law (B2C) and business law (B2B), and are the market leader in Denmark. We have also launched our services in Norway and Sweden, where we are rapidly growing. With more than 200.000 registered users, the platform is undergoing continuous changes and improvements and we are always developing new legal services. Our team currently consists of 48 dedicated people (and one equally ambitious office dog), that all share the nerdy obsession of automating legal processes through our platform. We speak mainly Danish and English at work, but you might also hear Swedish, Norwegian, Romanian and Macedonian around the office. We know that diversity is a force, and that a great workplace is versatile. We love our social butterflies and wall flowers. Our HQ is in new, bright rooms in the best location in Copenhagen - Islands Brygge (5 min. from a metro station). We have a very informal tone at the office and a team-based approach to problem-solving, which is why we like to work on-site and sit together as much as possible. We make sure to keep you hydrated with free access hot and cold drinks, and to avoid hangry-related conflicts, we provide fruit and a good lunch, that can be adjusted to vegan/vegetarian dietary requests. We also prioritise social interactions, to maintain the great spirit we have in our team. On Fridays there are usually a few colleagues having beers/soft drinks together after work, which is completely optional - we respect that you have a life outside work - also on Fridays EOB. In addition we have smaller team dinners, and five-six times a year we have larger parties and events, where friends of the house are invited to join, and we serve special brewery beers from our brand new "Fadølsanlæg". Lastly we once each year go on a company trip. This year we are visiting a beautiful estate, where we will be doing workshops during the day and have fun and "hygge" in the evening with games, sodas and maybe some wine. Rope Robotics

Rope Robotics is the developer and producer of an automatic BR-8 robot to be used as a unique repair solution for leading edges on turbine blades. Wind turbine blades need to be repaired to maintain their high performance. With manual labor turbine blades can only be repaired 20% of the time during a year due to the fact that it requires technicians to climb up with support from ropes. Using our robot to do the repair and maintenance work in the heights, we are going to expand this repair window and to improve the working environment for the technicians. We have several robot pilots in the pipeline in various places around the world and have received major funding from the EU and Danish Government.

Ai Rookie

AI Rookie helps companies turn AI interest into real capability. Many organizations want their employees to use AI more effectively, but they struggle to move from inspiration to practical adoption. Traditional training is often too generic, too theoretical, and quickly forgotten. Employees need relevant guidance, hands-on support, and someone they can learn from in the context of their actual work. That is the problem we are solving. AI Rookie is a platform where companies can give their employees access to experienced AI mentors who help them build confidence, skills, and real-world AI workflows. Instead of one-off courses, we focus on practical mentoring that makes AI useful in everyday work. We are building AI Rookie because we believe the biggest barrier to AI adoption is not the state of the technology— it is the gap between potential and implementation. Companies need a better way to help their people learn by doing, ask questions, and apply AI responsibly and effectively.

movogo

MovoGo is developing a high-speed, AI-powered rental platform for contractors who need heavy equipment - fast. We’re solving the chaos of fragmented rentals with instant booking, dynamic pricing, and real-time availability. Think Uber meets Airbnb, built for construction. The What: what are you solving? The €35B+ equipment rental industry is stuck in the past. Contractors waste hours calling rental houses, chasing quotes, and juggling delays. Meanwhile, suppliers sit on underutilized machines and outdated booking systems. It’s fragmented, analog, and slow - killing time, budgets, and margins across the board. This isn’t a niche problem. It affects tens of thousands of businesses, every single day. The How: How MovoGo solves this We’re building the infrastructure layer for machine rentals, not just another marketplace. Contractors get real-time availability, instant booking, and transparent pricing. Rental houses get automated fleet management, AI-driven pricing, and higher utilization. The platform controls pricing logic within supplier-defined ranges eliminating race-to-the-bottom chaos and creating a unified user experience. We’ve validated the problem, mapped the tech stack, built brand and design assets, and have multiple rental houses ready for onboarding. Now we need the right CTO to bring it to life. Fast. The Why: Why we’re doing this We’ve built companies before. We’ve scaled. We’ve seen how clunky, offline workflows bleed time and value especially in construction. But this one stuck with us. The inefficiency was everywhere. Nobody had built a true platform that just works. No AI. No instant rentals. Just friction. So we said screw it. Let’s build it ourselves and flip the industry.

At Complir, we’re on a mission to make product compliance effortless and future-proof. Compliance teams are under pressure like never before. Scattered product data, inconsistent reporting standards, and a constant stream of new EU regulations make it harder to stay compliant - and even harder to stay competitive. Complir uses AI agents to automate complex compliance workflows, connecting scattered data, filling gaps, and surfacing risks before they become problems. Our platform helps brands anticipate regulatory changes, simplify reporting, and accelerate sustainable practices like reducing harmful chemicals and cutting resource consumption. By making compliance easier and more transparent, Complir helps brands avoid fines, recalls, and reputational damage - while saving time and resources. We’re already working with some of the biggest Nordic retailers to reshape how product compliance is managed. We’re just getting started, but the potential is massive. This approach has been especially popular with fast turnover jobs in the service industries, such as restaurants, retail and construction. Among the companies hiring through Workee are brands like 7-Eleven, Rema 1000, Aldi and others. According to the customers' feedback, they consider the app to be the fastest and most effective way to close their job openings.

Triband ApS

We make comedy games! Triband is the award-winning studio behind the WHAT THE? comedy game series, which is played by millions worldwide. Up until now, we've launched four games to make people laugh: WHAT THE GOLF? WHAT THE CAR? WHAT THE BAT? WHAT THE CLASH? We're a team of 45+ people from 12 different nationalities, working together from our beautiful lake-view office in the heart of Copenhagen. HelloFlow

Customer onboarding is a central piece of the overall client journey as it is often the first experience that clients go through. It is however also a process fraught with complexity and ever-changing rules and regulations. At its core, a process that needs to satisfy relatively opposite forces - compliance/regulation and customer/user experience. The best proven way of tackling this problem is to build a sleek user experience and use the latest digital identity services to shorten the process as much as possible. The issue with this is that it can take months to implement just a single identity service and from that point making future changes would require even further development resources. HelloFlow is a Platform as a Service (PaaS) company that was started to explore ways of solving this issue. Our founders had previously been met with a similar situation when they were asked to implement onboarding solutions for some of Europe’s largest companies. The essence of the platform is that it combines two functionalities: 1. an easy way to create and adjust an onboarding “flow” and 2. a service infrastructure that allows a given company to “drag and drop” identity services into their new process. What this results in, is a platform where building compliant, best-in-class digital onboarding flows can now be done in minutes, without writing a single line of code.
