HEKA VR is a medical software platform that enables Avatar-Therapy, a form of psychotherapy, to be conducted in a Virtual Reality or in a Telehealth setting. VR-based Avatar Therapy combines psychology and VR technology to provide transformative interventions for mental health disorders. Grounded in research, this therapy utilises virtual reality and avatars to create immersive experiences. Through the concept of embodiment, individuals psychologically connect with their avatars, leading to significant changes in thoughts and behaviours. In schizophrenia, Avatar Therapy helps patients gain control over auditory hallucinations, but Avatar Therapy holds promise for improving mental health outcomes among patients with Eating Disorders, PTSD, Bipolar disorder, Borderline disorder, Major Depressive Disorder and many more. Heka VR was born through a public-private partnership and research project called The Challenge Trial - initiated in 2019, funded by the Danish Innovation Fund and with the final research results published in The Lancet Psychiatry in July 2025. The results show that VR based Avatar-Therapy is a an effective new treatment method for 7/10 patients with treatment resistant Schizophrenia. Currently Heka VR is involved in 10+ clinical trials and studies around the world, from North America to APAC. Our mission is to scale Avatar-Therapy globally and bring clinically proven treatment methods to the patients that need it the most! Toptutors is creating a category for online tutoring, where geography and transportation no longer is a problem. We want to inspire the next generation of students to reach their full potential, because we believe that anyone can learn anything with an inspiring teacher. Student and tutor share an online digital whiteboard designed for educational purposes. Our students love us, because they get an ideal learning experience from the comfort of their home. As humans we can naturally hear where sound is coming from, and how far away things are. But when listening with headphones we cannot use these abilities since all the sound is inside our heads. This is a very unnatural experience, making us tired at the end of the day. We are radically changing this with our breakthrough spatial audio technology using head tracking.
