Combat Climate Change, set up with a large vision of creating an impact along with a tangible contribution to UN's 2030 agenda for sustainable development, is currently focused on a deep tech innovation idea of making recycled products in the container shipping industry from fully recycled plastic. Our oceans need to be protected! The idea in a nutshell -> When shipping containers fall in our oceans, they hit the bottom damaging marine life. We want to make refurbished containers from recycled plastic injected with microbubbles, giving them the buoyancy and ability to float. The idea is based on archemedies principle and the principles of circular economy, directly supporting UN SDGs 14.1, 9.4, 12.5 and 12.c. It will be one way of helping shipping companies with their decarbonisation agenda and move towards their green transition. Our long-term aspirations upon growth are i) to channel part of our earnings and energy to fund climate educational programmes in schools, something we passionately believe needs to be done for our future generations and ii) building an ESG platform providing a holistic view of a firm's ESG ambitions in line with the 2030 agenda, with a clear view of how close or far is one to their net-zero ambition (design prototype already created).

MinRefusion offers a SaaS solution for automating the process of applying for refunds from the Danish government for employee absence due to sickness, maternity leave, or other reasons. TUMling is a groundbreaking IT solution, created to revolutionize the documentation process in daycare facilities. With an advanced integration of artificial intelligence and computer vision, TUMling automates and simplifies the collection and analysis of data from daily activities. This frees up educators' time from extensive paperwork, allowing them to immerse themselves in direct interaction with the children, thus improving the working environment, enhancing the quality of childcare. A significant pain point in the industry is the burden of documentation, which often feels meaningless and too complex, as well as it stands in the way of educators' core tasks. This issue has led to high stress, sick leave, and industry exodus, which harms both the professionals and the children they care for. TUMling directly addresses this by transforming the documentation process into a quick and meaningful task, taking as little as 30 seconds per day. Competitors primarily focus on retrospective documentation, where educators must set aside time to reflect over long periods. TUMling, on the other hand, integrates documentation into daily work, actively and effectively utilizing photo documentation, instead of the current practice where thousands of photos are rarely fully utilized. The economic advantage is clear: TUMling could potentially save over 144 million Danish kroner annually with nationwide implementation, based on a weekly time saving of one hour per preschool classroom. With 260,000 children in Danish daycare facilities, and competitors' prices of about 250 kroner per child per year, TUMling faces a Danish market of 65 million kroner annually. TUMling was founded in the fall of 2023 by me, Stefan Steinmejer. I am a former bachelor-educated preschool teacher, who has now further educated myself and will complete a MSc in Information Technology, Specializing in ICT, Learning and Organizational Change, in the summer of '24. I also have two children who attend a private preschool institution, where I have served on the board for 2 years. The foundation of TUMling is thus a combination of professional insight, technological innovation, board experience, and a problem that strikes right into both my educator heart and my father heart. With a prototype developed in 2023, TUMling is now in the software development phase, and is actively seeking partners who can fully program the solution. The plan is to enter agreements with the private market in 2024 and launch sales in 2025. In the longer term, the goal is to expand to the public and international markets. TUMling represents a visionary approach to a persistent problem in the daycare sector, offering a solution that not only saves time and money but also improves the work environment for the preschool teachers, but more importantly the quality of care for the children in our society.

In the European Union alone, more than 1.5 million paint buckets are discarded daily, constituting a disposal of 340 tons of single-use plastic that is incinerated each day. Starting from early 2023 (2025 in Denmark and Slovenia), manufacturers are obligated to cover the disposal costs of their packaging based on sustainability criteria. In Denmark, this translates to an estimated 15% fee on paint buckets. Furthermore, the conventional round shape of packaging has proven suboptimal for logistics and transportation. Beyond its environmental impact, the traditional paint bucket poses challenges for professional painters. These challenges encompass ergonomic issues during handling, such as the strain of lifting two buckets simultaneously, which exceeds recommended weight limits according to the Working Environment Authority. Painters also find themselves in awkward positions when pouring paint into a roller bucket for wall application. The demanding physical nature of the painting profession in Denmark results in accelerated fatigue and early retirement for painters. Additionally, issues like lid leakage due to dried paint and the use of fragile, porous plastic contribute to unexpected spills, particularly during abrupt vehicle stops. Our innovative solution involves a cardboard box housing two patent-pending plastic bags, each containing 5 liters of paint. This packaging not only enhances the workflow for professional painters but also reduces costs and lowers carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) emissions by approximately 65% per unit. The box's design facilitates easy and ergonomic transportation, allowing for a 45% increase in units per pallet. The box is opened, and one of the bags is inserted into a standard roller bucket used by painters. The bag effortlessly opens and seamlessly fits into the roller bucket, wrapping around the edges, and enabling the painter to begin work promptly. This functionality is made possible through an innovative patented design and specific plastic welding techniques.

Because they represent 93% of the avg. company's footprint, and are absolutely key to ensure a sustainable future. They're also hard, fragmented and intransparent, and will require work for the decades to come.​ ​ To accelerate this transition, we need to stand on the shoulders of giants. Learn from each others mistakes and replicate the successes. There's an unfortunate consequence of the greenwashing and reputational risks that spans sustainability, which results in people 'holding their cards close' or being abstract in their shares.
