UNYA Copenhagen is a volunteer-driven youth organization dedicated to empowering young people to engage with global challenges through the lens of the United Nations’ values and the Sustainable Development Goals. We create an inclusive platform where students and young professionals can learn, collaborate, and take action on issues like climate change, social inequality, peacebuilding, and innovation. We are addressing a clear and growing problem i.e. the disconnect between youth and global institutions. Many young people in Denmark care deeply about sustainability and justice but find it difficult to access meaningful opportunities to participate in international dialogue or contribute to real-world impact. This gap leaves motivated individuals without a channel to apply their energy, creativity, and ideas, while institutions miss out on fresh perspectives and engagement from the very generation that will inherit the future. UNYA Copenhagen bridges this divide by turning global ideals into local action. We organize interactive events, workshops, and panel discussions that make complex global topics accessible and relevant. Our activities are co-created by volunteers from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds who bring their own insights to the table. Through collaboration with universities, NGOs, and public institutions, we connect youth directly with experts and decision-makers, fostering a sense of shared responsibility and agency. What makes UNYA Copenhagen unique is our grassroots approach. We are not just an organization — we are a community that thrives on collective energy and creativity. Every project is designed by young people for young people, ensuring authenticity, inclusivity, and long-term motivation. Responsibly is a sustainability tech start-up with vision of making every purchase in the world responsible 🌍 There's no bigger problem out there than the climate, and procurement represents a big part of the solution - when purchase decisions are made on the background of responsible data like CO2 footprint, suppliers have a huge incentive to change. However, procurement is becoming overloaded with complexity. Different frameworks, different data sources, different coverage, making it difficult to make purchase decisions to improve your responsibility profile and scope 3 emissions. At Responsibly, we're trying to solve this issue by using leading technologies and data science, to build a supplier data platform that makes it easier to source responsibly. We're founded by two serial entrepreneurs with previous successes like Dixa and Ofload, and have received pre-seed funding from some of Europe's top VCs and angels. We're now building a top-tier team to tackle this big thing called climate, and have fun while we're doing it 🤘

Lapee, the female urinal. “Lapee gives women and people who need to pee squatting a quick, safe and hygienic way out.” Urinals for men have been around for a long time, but women and people who need to pee squatting have been long overlooked. For them the need to relieve themselves in public, at events or at festivals always comes with great difficulty. The lines for closed toilet cabins are always long and only two other options present themselves: going without peeing or finding an improvised and unsafe place to pee. Both are highly problematic and degrading. Lapee is a simple solution to a long standing example of gender inequality; Lapee gives women and people who need to pee squatting a quick, safe and hygienic way out. Behind this idea of developing peeing equality are Gina (FR) and Alexander (DK), two architects who graduated from the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen in Spring, 2017. They were working as architects for the famous Roskilde Festival when they thought and developed Lapee. Today, Lapee is available for rent in 20 countries through 30 partners. Join the movement!

Our material database displays leftover materials from production, giving developers easy access to reusable materials, also called "New Waste". Hereby, achieving a significantly lower CO₂ footprint than with virgin materials. When circulating New Waste materials with the THE UPCYCL, we also offer to monitor CO₂ savings.
