The problem we're solving is that grant applications today are a heavy, manual, and time-consuming process. This pulls focus away from a company's core business, which is why many businesses either outsource the work to expensive consultants or skip applying altogether, missing out on substantial funding that could support their growth. We're solving this because we believe access to funding shouldn't depend on having the time or budget for consultants; small and medium-sized enterprises deserve the same professional-grade funding management that larger companies can afford. Our platform is already in its first working version and being tested with real companies. Since our founding, we've built strong in-house expertise in software development, AI, and automation, giving us a solid foundation to scale this into a SaaS platform with international potential.

Our secret sauce combines AI matching, board analytics, and a vetted talent network to make board hiring faster, smarter, and more diverse. Finding qualified board members is still largely driven by personal networks and referrals, making the process slow, biased, and inefficient. Companies often struggle to identify candidates with the right expertise, while experienced professionals miss opportunities because they’re outside traditional networks. Boardway uses AI to match companies with board and advisory talent based on skills, industry experience, governance expertise, and company needs. Our platform streamlines sourcing, evaluation, and hiring through a data-driven recruitment workflow. We started Boardway because we saw how outdated and exclusive board recruitment remains. We believe better access to qualified board talent leads to stronger governance, better decisions, and ultimately better companies.

Spuddle is developing a Duolingo-style app for Excel to help young professionals boost their digital confidence and career readiness by turning complex skills into fun, bite-sized learning. Our secret sauce? Gamification, microlearning, and a community-driven approach that makes Excel something you actually want to practice. Across the world, more than a billion people use Excel and yet most have never been taught how to use it properly. For young professionals and recent graduates, this creates a huge barrier: they’re expected to “just know” Excel, but in reality many feel insecure, waste time on manual tasks, or miss out on opportunities because of weak digital skills. This gap affects productivity, confidence, and employability and it’s widespread across industries, especially in early career roles where Excel is a daily tool. We’re building a mobile app that makes learning Excel engaging and accessible, like Duolingo, but for spreadsheets. Instead of long, boring tutorials, users complete short, gamified exercises that fit into their everyday routines. The app adapts to their level, rewards progress, and helps them practice consistently until Excel becomes second nature. Beyond Excel, our vision is to expand into other workplace tools, becoming the go-to microlearning platform for digital skills. Spuddle started as a side project on social media. We shared quick Excel tips on Instagram and TikTok, and within six months had over 200,000 followers. The overwhelming response showed us just how many young professionals struggle with these skills and how much they crave accessible, fun learning. What began as a hobby quickly grew into a mission: to make digital skills education less intimidating and more empowering. We’re building Spuddle because we’ve lived the problem ourselves, and we believe mastering the basics should feel motivating, not overwhelming.

Our Story: Normative is rooted in climate research. In 2013, co-founder Kristian Rönn was working at Oxford University, simulating the consequences of climate change. He joined forces with Adam Wamai Egesa and Robin Undall-Behrend, and in 2014 the world’s first carbon accounting engine was born to help humanity achieve net zero emissions and reverse the trajectory of climate change.
