Elderlearn

There are too many lonely elderly people and it is too difficult to learn Danish as a foreigner. We solve these two problems by arranging for foreigners, learning Danish, to visit elderly Danes. The foreigner comes to the home of the Dane once a week, They learn Danish by having a normal conversation with the elderly.Municipalities pay us for bettering their activation of the elderly and their integration of foreigners. Currently I, Andreas, is the only one working at Elderlearn. I am however sitting in offices with other start-ups with whom I always have lunch with. I find lunch to be a crucial part of the day and always take at least half an hour free to eat and talk with the others in the office.I love playing board games, eating good food and meeting new people. If you join the team you will be a big part of shaping the office culture, and I will look very much forward to finding my first colleague.Since I am moving to another start-up office soon, the below images show some of the foreigners and elderly I have introduced to each other. They do still give a good impression of why, how, and what we do here at Elderlearn.

Calibre Social

WHAT_ Calibre is a social platform that connects people through shared passions and turns those connections into real, in-person experiences. We reduce the friction of meeting new people and make it easier to build meaningful platonic relationships — whether that means deepening existing friendships or discovering new IRL experiences and activities. We partner with local experience-economy businesses to host the meetups our matches lead to. TEAM_ We're a small, committed team based in Copenhagen. Ather Nawaz and Adam Isaac are building Calibre full-time, with backgrounds spanning Computer Science and Data Science, and a shared curiosity for ethically applied psychology in digital products. We're actively looking for a technical co-founder (full-stack) to join us as we take the product from prototype to launch. WHY_ The SDG target we're focused on is loneliness — a factor in life expectancy second only to smoking. It's a pressing issue for everyone, but especially for young people, who are facing rising rates of anxiety, depression and eating disorders. Research (Holt-Lunstad et al., 2010; Holt-Lunstad et al., 2017) shows that lacking social connection carries health risks comparable to — and in many cases exceeding — smoking up to 15 cigarettes a day, obesity, physical inactivity, and air pollution. Everyone should have access to fewer experiences of loneliness and more highly personal, memorable social experiences. Calibre fosters meaningful platonic friendships and real-life memories, making IRL social connection more accessible. HOW_ We're building Calibre so that IRL activities are as accessible as possible — deliberately not following the "doomscrolling" business model common in social networking. We're currently developing our MVP with a clear mission and a critical technical practice (CTP) mindset, working closely with small experience-economy businesses in Copenhagen to design the ideal platform for connection-driven meetups. For our SME partners, Calibre offers a more effective way to reach and retain customers than the e-commerce-optimized tools currently on the market — built specifically around the real, personal, immaterial value that IRL businesses provide. MiniReview

MiniReview is the ultimate mobile games discovery platform, helping thousands of mobile gamers find their next favorite game. Find great mobile games is close to impossible these days, as Google and Apple are financially incentivized to promote the games that generate the most revenue on Google Play and the App Store. And with thousands of games releasing monthly, developers of actual great games often have no way to compete with the massive titles dominating the industry. Recognized as one of the best Android apps by HowToMen and Android Police, MiniReview curates, reviews, tags, and categorizes the best new mobile games daily, providing unparalleled filtering options, top games posts, and community-created user ratings and collections. We also build "similar games" recommendation systems to help users discover titles they might like. Similarly, we build promotional systems to help game developers and publishers reach players looking for exactly their type of game. We've tested these systems with a few clients, but are still pre-revenue. We're now looking for a freelancer ad sales manager to help generate the first real revenue. We've always been massive gamers, and have personally felt the struggles of finding actual good mobile games. It's close to impossible. After creating content on YouTube for a few years as a hobby and engaging heavily on the AndroidGaming and iosgaming sub-Reddits, we built MiniReview to address the biggest problem mobile gamers face globally; being able to find games that match your preferences.

Windit is created on the grounds of wanting to bring comfort and ease of life to anyone and everyone with a backpack by eliminating the inevitable sweat stains.
