We are a tech start-up with an award-winning book-creation Web App for young elementary students. The Danish version is reaching 50% of the Danish public schools – with documented results of enhancing children’s learning. For 200 years schools have used basically the same methods to teach children to write and read. Still, every fifth child today is functionally illiterate. Our mission is to change that by offering motivating learning tools built on new tech and proven pedagogical principles.

Wavers is developed as a result of the challenges with mental health that workplaces are faced with today. Mental illness is increasingly prevalent, and The National Research Center for the Working Environment (NFA) estimates that the direct and indirect societal costs of mental problems are 55 billion Danish kroner (approx. 8 billion USD). Sadly, the corona crisis has certainly not contributed positively to this trend. The crisis generates huge insecurity for companies and their employees and can potentially trigger mental problems such as anxiety, stress and depression. We have just released our app “Wavers” which is supported by the union “the Velliv Association.” Wavers is a dynamic health platform that detects and prevents problems and challenges at workplaces before it turns into serious problems. Through our app, employees are urged and motivated to take responsibility for their own and their colleagues’ wellbeing by answering questions (that can be asked by everyone), while maintaining their anonymity, until the unique reach out-feature is used which gives the unsatisfied person the opportunity to accept a helping hand from another colleague. Therefore, the workplace’ mental health becomes a shared project and responsibility for all employees. Spraino ApS vision is to keep athletes injury-free. Our first product prevents ankle in indoor sports. We are expanding our technological platform continuously and have a strong collaboration with KU, DTU and AAU. We are presently conducting the largest ever scientific study in Danish sports together with Dansk Idræts Forbund (DIF) and the federations for handball, basketball and badminton.
