Samt vores fysiske butik på Badstuegade i Århus. Vi har kontor og lager i Århus V, tæt på midtbyen og BSS. I 2019 startede Pitaya, og siden er det gået stærkt. In a short span of time, Upsound has become the leading platform for recording studio rental in Denmark, both on an hourly- and session basis. We facilitate a large number of crowdsourced studios throughout the country that rent out their studios through our platform, as well as a vast network of music producers, sound-engineers and songwriters. And in 2024, we changed our name from Juicebox to Upsound, re-branded ourselves at upsound.com, and are ready to take our first international steps! But why is there a need for a platform like ours? Countless musicians across all music industries does not have access to recording studios, which is both due to a lack of studios, that access to studios is often based on personal networks, as well as the fact that existing studios are often very expensive, and the common users therefore cannot afford to use them. But despite this, many studios are often empty, as most of them are rented on a monthly basis by only one or a few owners who does not use them full time, but finding renters for the available days and/or hours can be time consuming. At Upsound we try to solve both problems. With our crowdsourcing of existing studios across the country, we can highlight all the offers out there, thereby bringing the customers and the studio owners together. As of today, we have onboarded 40+ professional studios to our platform, have 1000+ users registered, and have facilitated over 800 bookings. But why us? Because we have experienced the problem ourselves as musicians. We, like many others who start making music, did not have a large network of friends in the industry, and we did not know any producers, sound engineers, or studios, and we certainly did not have money for what we could find on Google. We are therefore heavily dedicated to solving this issue, but have also seen the potential for a highly profitable business endeavor. This combination is why we went directly from university, to working full time on Upsound, to creating a team that have all the necessary skills to solve any problem we may encounter, to being adopted into Innfounder Graduate, to landing our first investment in December 2023, and our ambition is not only to solidify ourselves in Denmark, but to become the leading platform for recording studio rental in Europe.

The Solution to Our Time’s Flood of Pictures Lies in Photo Books. We are living in a time where we take more pictures than ever before. However, it is also a time where we no longer have them developed or spend time looking at them together. This has the team behind the Danish company SubBook come up with a solution to. They have made it easy to get the photo books back in the living rooms, so that friends and family can gather around the pictures and look back at all of their greatest memories together. And now they are expanding to the international market. The team has developed a photo book app called SubBook, which allows users to collect pictures from both Facebook, Instagram, Dropbox, and the iPhone camera roll to make simple photo books as easy as possible. They have made it with a particular focus on a user-friendly experience, so that people can both create and order their photo books while grocery shopping or in the bus on the way home from work. Because the team would like to spread the joy of perpetuated memories and the possibility to make simple, personalized, and cheap photo books to even more people, they now have entered the international market. In doing so they have also launched their website and app in English versions, while their photo books are delivered to all of Europe. With a sustainable aim. As the team wishes to give something back to the resources they use in their production, SubBook has joined in with the organization One Tree Planted. This collaboration means that a tree is planted every time a customer orders three books using the SubBook app. The team care a great deal about the traces they leave on our Earth and because of this, they only use paper qualities complying with international environmental requirements. This also means that their customers can order books with a clean and green conscience. For now, the SubBook app only works with iPhones, but as a part of their international launch the team is working tirelessly on developing an app for Android users, so that many more can join in on getting pictures out of the phones and into the photo books.
