UpFood is a tech startup that develops sustainable solutions to up-cycle the food, that otherwise get wasted throughout the food value chain, into different value-added food ingredients.  Besides, we will also provide our low cost and efficient technologies to smallholder farmers, producing 80%  of food in the world but facing significant food loss challenges. Our patent pending solutions address UN SDGs 1, 2, 6, 7 and 12. We envision a successful business with huge impact in the world.

CPH Village is a Copenhagen based real estate start-up on a mission to create the best place to live for people and the planet through simple, communal living Our long-range vision is to export a new way of living to cities worldwide, and our goal for the next three years is to build and operate homes for 2.500 students. Our offices are located in our Villages on Refshaleøen and Vesterbro, and we work in the same kind of space as our residents live in. We are a young and action-oriented team in an exciting expansion phase as we are planning to quadruple our operations during the next year.

UNYA Copenhagen is a volunteer-driven youth organization dedicated to empowering young people to engage with global challenges through the lens of the United Nations’ values and the Sustainable Development Goals. We organize interactive events, workshops, and panel discussions that make complex global topics accessible and relevant. Our activities are co-created by volunteers from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds who bring their own insights to the table. Through collaboration with universities, NGOs, and public institutions, we connect youth directly with experts and decision-makers, fostering a sense of shared responsibility and agency. Power supplies are bulky and limit the design opportunities for LED lighting. For high end design lighting the size is a major issue, forcing designers to compromise the quality to reach desired designs. NPC cut the size to a fifth using patented technology. Products are on the market, a solid customer based and funnel has been build, and 10x growth is expected in 2022.

Fischer Lighting is a sustainable front-runner who has developed a unique circular business model where waste is transformed into new beautiful lamps that make buildings more sustainable and people healthier. In 2023, Fischer Lighting saved more than 53 tons of discarded lamps from being thrown away, and with the concepts ReUse, ReDesign, and ReCreate, unique lighting solutions are created in a beautiful and industrial design that meets all the requirements of a new lighting fixture. In addition to environmental sustainability, social sustainability is also an important part of the concept. Therefore, all the old lamps are separated and assembled by people on the edge of the labor market in Denmark. At the same time, the lamps are equipped with the latest technology, which, among other things, enables circadian lighting, which can stimulate the production of hormones in our body and create better well-being for people in buildings.

Rock Flour Company is a dynamic, mission-driven startup founded by Professor Minik Rosing, the world-renowned geologist and pioneer of utilizing Greenlandic Rock Flour (GRF) for carbon-negative agronomic applications. ESEBA, a deep tech startup from DTU, transforms low-quality textile waste into MDF boards without binders or formaldehyde. We offer a sustainable, non-toxic alternative to traditional wood-based panels. Textile waste is a massive and growing problem in Europe – less than 1% is recycled into new products, and most ends up incinerated. Drivn offers an innovative solution that automatically tracks and analyzes employee commuting data in real-time, providing companies with valuable insights into their carbon footprint. By leveraging advanced technology and data science, and machine learning we empower businesses to make informed decisions and implement sustainable transportation strategies. Our mission is to help businesses reduce their carbon emissions, improve sustainability, and contribute to a greener future. In the European Union alone, more than 1.5 million paint buckets are discarded daily, constituting a disposal of 340 tons of single-use plastic that is incinerated each day. Starting from early 2023 (2025 in Denmark and Slovenia), manufacturers are obligated to cover the disposal costs of their packaging based on sustainability criteria. In Denmark, this translates to an estimated 15% fee on paint buckets. Furthermore, the conventional round shape of packaging has proven suboptimal for logistics and transportation. Beyond its environmental impact, the traditional paint bucket poses challenges for professional painters. These challenges encompass ergonomic issues during handling, such as the strain of lifting two buckets simultaneously, which exceeds recommended weight limits according to the Working Environment Authority. Painters also find themselves in awkward positions when pouring paint into a roller bucket for wall application. The demanding physical nature of the painting profession in Denmark results in accelerated fatigue and early retirement for painters. Additionally, issues like lid leakage due to dried paint and the use of fragile, porous plastic contribute to unexpected spills, particularly during abrupt vehicle stops. Our innovative solution involves a cardboard box housing two patent-pending plastic bags, each containing 5 liters of paint. This packaging not only enhances the workflow for professional painters but also reduces costs and lowers carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) emissions by approximately 65% per unit. The box's design facilitates easy and ergonomic transportation, allowing for a 45% increase in units per pallet. The box is opened, and one of the bags is inserted into a standard roller bucket used by painters. The bag effortlessly opens and seamlessly fits into the roller bucket, wrapping around the edges, and enabling the painter to begin work promptly. This functionality is made possible through an innovative patented design and specific plastic welding techniques.
