Based in Aarhus, Denmark, we are a Venture Lab for hard things, worth doing. Contrary to what many may think, the technological progress has stagnated for nearly four decades. Enabling and fundamental innovations such as the practical use of electricity, the telecommunications infrastructure, automatic computing, automotive transportation, heavier than air flight, genomics, and many other examples, all arose prior to the 1970s. What we have witnessed as progress within a generation is largely the application of these technologies in increasingly refined solutions. The latest wave of “softwaretization”, have increased operational efficiencies in multiple industries but also offset culturally and personal demand for tangible products and interactions, by web and app-based experiences. Our core thesis revolves around overcoming challenges in commercialization of scientific breakthroughs by providing the facility between scientists and entrepreneurs. We extend the conventional 10-year venture capital horizon, allowing for the maturation of technologies and customer demand. We focus specifically the hard sciences: physics, chemistry and their derived engineering disciplines. The markets and industries we work with are: - Military and Defense - Energy systems - Sustainable Resource Extraction - Access to space and ocean - Autonomous systems - AI for physical applications - Meta-materials and composites. Omkring 70 procent af al affald, der ender i havet, synker til bunds. Her kan det have store konsekvenser for havmiljøet og er samtidig utilgængeligt for traditionelle oprydningsmetoder. Os Om Havet holder derfor arrangementer, hvor dykkere og andre ildsjæle fra hele Danmark samles og i fællesskab rydder op både over, under og i havet. Vi tror, at en god oplevelse i naturen kan skabe motivation og engagement til at handle på nogle af de store udfordringer, miljøet står overfor. Os Om Havet er mere end svømmefødder og iltflasker. This is the place where startups, innovative ideas and green engineering specialists meet. By accessing not only the vibrating hub with peer entrepreneurs, but also the best engineers specialised in sustainability with in different industries such as food, beverage, building, energy, infrastructure etc. The co-development and collaboration between startups and NIRAS’ many experts will be the fast track to grow ideas and innovations. Currently 25 startups and scaleups saluting the green transition is reciting in the hub on a daily basis, but we are working with more than 100 startups on an annual basis through our different programs and activities.

Ecobotix has developed and patented a unique spreader system for gently, evenly and precisely applying natural enemies (beneficial insects and mites). Klima Biler er sat i verden for dem, der går med tanker om at anskaffe sig en klimavenlig bil. Hos KlimaBiler.dk er der ingen benzin- og dieselbiler, medmindre der er tale om hybridbiler. Vi har fokus på klimavenlige biler og dermed fremtiden. Vi hører selv til i kategorien af dem, der elsker lyden af en V8’er! … men det er lyden af fortiden, det er lyden af afbrænding af fossile brændstoffer. Vi er også fuldt ud bevidste om, at det kan diskuteres, hvilke biltyper der forurener mest fra vugge til grav, og problematikker omkring rækkevidde, manglende ladestandere og ladetid. MEN jo flere der kører klimavenligt, jo hurtigere går udviklingen af de grønne teknologier, og jo hurtigere går det med at nedbringe de børnesygdommene med førnævnte problematikker. Vi synes, at man ved at køre i en klimavenlig bil viser sin holdning til klimaspørgsmålet og er med til at få tvivlerne over på den grønne bølge. Tesla har vist, at klimavenlig teknologi og biler bestemt ikke behøver at være kedeligt.
