Based in Aarhus, Denmark, we are a Venture Lab for hard things, worth doing. Contrary to what many may think, the technological progress has stagnated for nearly four decades. Enabling and fundamental innovations such as the practical use of electricity, the telecommunications infrastructure, automatic computing, automotive transportation, heavier than air flight, genomics, and many other examples, all arose prior to the 1970s. What we have witnessed as progress within a generation is largely the application of these technologies in increasingly refined solutions. The latest wave of “softwaretization”, have increased operational efficiencies in multiple industries but also offset culturally and personal demand for tangible products and interactions, by web and app-based experiences. Our core thesis revolves around overcoming challenges in commercialization of scientific breakthroughs by providing the facility between scientists and entrepreneurs. We extend the conventional 10-year venture capital horizon, allowing for the maturation of technologies and customer demand. We focus specifically the hard sciences: physics, chemistry and their derived engineering disciplines. Girls' education is an incredibly powerful climate solution due to its stong relationship with child marriage prevention and subsequent delayed motherhood; impacting population growth and lowering consumption-based emissions. 130 million girls in the world's poorest and most climate-vulnerable communities are effectively excluded from education due to poverty. Humanitarian organizations in low-income countries constantly struggle to fundraise and are never able to fully meet the needs of the most marginalized. SoGreen is a startup with a big heart and an even bigger ambition: A world where all girls realise their right to education and climate justice is placed at the heart of all climate action. In collaboration with leading scientists at renowned European research institutions in the field of demography and climate science,* SoGreen has developed a methodology to quantify the climate impact of girls' education in tonnes CO2-equivalent avoided. This allows for the generation of carbon credits (1 ton = 1 carbon credit) which can be sold on the international carbon market to channel climate finance to girls' education. In partnership with FAWEZA, a leading pan-African NGO focusing on girls' education, SoGreen's pilot project is being implemented in Zambia. Over the coming 5 years, the project will ensure a full secondary education for 180 marginalized girls. All carbon credits generated by the project have been sold ex ante to over 30 companies that have ambitious sustainability strategies, which allow for the use of carbon credits in addition to reducing their own emissions. SoGreen aims to be the provider of the worlds most popular carbon credits within the next 5 years; resulting in a powerful reduction in emissions and a massive increase in educational attainment - a basic human right. *International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in Austria, Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) in Germany, and The Wittgenstein Centre for Demography and Global Human Capital (WIC) in Austria.

Beleaf is a platform that want to make it easy for everyone to hold plants. The platform consists of three parts: The app - a mobile application where users can put in their plant and get an overview of when they need caring. The device – a device that uploads data about the plants to the cloud. The shop – a webshop where users can configure a plant and get a gardener to prepare quality plants with the correct growing media. With the usage of new technologies, we're making plants digital.

Growstack is an open-source non-profit community project addressing the issues within our food system via vertical farming, to improve food quality and sustainability. Foodstack - the community behind Growstack - is for do'ers of all kinds who want to get involved hands-on with and share knowledge about food technology. We are everything from engineers, designers and entrepreneurs to food professionals, scientists and farmers. Growstack has an indoor growth lab and production facility in Østerbro, Copenhagen.

En dampvask af din bil udgøres reelt set kun af tre liter vand – i modsætning til en traditionel bilvask hvor der anvendes 300 liter vand. Metoden er også effektiv, fordi den 170 grader varme damp trænger ned i alle afkroge af bilen, hvor den fjerner snavs og dræber bakterierne i hele bilen.

We`ve been organising Startup Weekends in Copenhagen for 4 years, educating and inspiring hundreds of people to become entrepreneurs. We were lucky to see it from the first row how #CPHSW helped people get into the entrepreneur mindset and to try new challenges. We always believed that one of strongest forces were the network of people you created during those crazy weekends. This is why we created Startup Weekend Mega: The biggest Startup Weekend ever organised in Europe.  We´re an awesome group of volunteers coming from a wide variety of backgrounds. All of us have their own stories about how we ended up joining the #CPHSW family.  We are proud that we`re 100% voluntarily run organisation and that we created a culture where everybody feels safe to experiment and make their own decisions.
