Empirical

Empirical is a flavor company, founded in 2017 and located on Refshaleøen in Copenhagen. Our approach is inspired by the Empirical method and the belief that knowledge is gained from experiences, our senses, and a desire to explore the world around us. Focusing on flavor, our company uses low-temperature distillation, fermentation, and unique, high-quality ingredients sourced carefully from all over the world. The result is culinary innovations in the world of spirits, beverages and food products. We pay respect to tradition, but want to explore without prejudice, reinventing and mixing things up instead of letting traditional boxes define how we do things. Our team reflects this: it is made up of waiters, chefs, scientists and professionals who are keen to do things in new ways and to work outside of their comfort zones.

Foods of Copenhagen

Foods of Copenhagen is a boutique gastro company founded back in 2016. Since then, we have focused on creating personal and intimate food & cultural tours for travellers in Copenhagen. We also create teambuilding experiences for companies, always revolving around gastronomy. We believe food brings people together!

Just Eat

Just Eat Take​away​.com is a lead­ing glob­al online food deliv­ery mar­ket­place, con­nect­ing con­sumers with over 580,000 con­nect­ed restau­rants through its plat­form. In 2020, our company was created through the all-share combination between Just Eat plc. and Takeaway.com N.V. Our strategy is to build sustainable leadership in all of our 25 markets by powering our local brands.

Zymoscope ApS

Zymoscope enables food processors to monitor and control fermentation easily, remotely, and in real-time. We develop a fermentation management platform, consisting of proprietary sensor technology, sophisticated algorithms, and a mobile app. Currently, our focus is to provide a robust platform for anaerobic fermentation, and more specifically the beer industry. We have been developing our solution together with leading breweries, and we have been conducting industrial pilots since May 2020. Breweries have been able to automate quality control, increase production capacity and be able to create innovative and flavorful products in an efficient and consistent way. Although fermentation is the most ancient food processing technique, it now presents a great potential to fundamentally change the way the world eats, and improve global human and environmental health and economy. We at Zymoscope have the vision to become an integrated part of the future of food, by making any fermentation easy and scalable with data. +impact accelerator

We are an equity-free acceleration program for seed and series A impact startups in the Nordics. The accelerator runs two batches a year, one in spring focused on Agrifood and one in the autumn on Smart Cities. The program lasts 7-8 weeks and is implemented by WeWork Labs, Danske Bank and RISE in Stockholm.

Our vision At Simple Feast, we believe that amazing things can happen around the dinner table. Our plant-based meal kits are rooted in our commitment to making life easier and better for you, your family, and the planet we all share. Simple Feast takes you on a journey toward a future where the power and flavors of plants are the focus of our meals. Through inspiring and delightful taste experiences, we can help move people’s eating habits in a more sustainable direction. Our story Simple Feast was founded in Copenhagen (in 2014) with the vision of getting more Danes to make more meals at home. We wanted to go back to the primordial tradition of sharing food with family and friends. We started by creating an app with hundreds of recipes from some of the world’s finest chefs. However, we soon recognized how many people today have limited time for cooking and the need for everyday meals that are quick and easy to prepare. So in March 2017, we decided to cook the food for you on the days you didn’t have time to do it yourself. We knew that the simple action of embracing a plant-based diet held the potential to be our generation’s greatest contribution to ourselves and our planet. Each week, our culinary team (composed of former Michelin chefs) designs an array of delicious, crowd pleasing meals that just so happen to be made of plants. As a certified B Corp™ we meet the highest verified standards of transparency, responsibility, sustainability and performance – all with the aim of generating value for the business and for society as a whole.

Dryk

Imagine if your consumption took one small step for the climate. Every day. Dryk is a company that sells plant based drinks to help our customers become more sustainable. We offer a product that can skim and caters very well to coffee lovers. The world needs to do all it can to aid with climate change where one solution is to have more space for nature. Our production helps by using only one tenth (!) of the land used for traditional dairy production. It is our core philosophy that mankind cannot change drastically to what is needed for the climate, therefore we tackle the very core of consumption to nudge the consumer in the right direction.

La Cabra Coffee

La Cabra Coffee is a modern coffee company established in Aarhus, Denmark in 2012. We started in a small shop far from the city centre, a dedicated team aiming to offer something new and exciting to Aarhus, which already had a strong and established coffee culture. Quickly, this dedication to providing outstanding coffee experiences turned into obsession with a fast growing industry that was slowly spanning the globe. Curious about what lay further down the coffee chain, we threw ourselves into sourcing and roasting our own coffee, our own way, in 2013. Part of the advantage of growing in a small town is the lack of external influence, allowing us to forge an honest and novel approach to coffee. This honesty and dedication led to a reputation at home in Aarhus, where a passionate team still runs our coffee bar and bakery. Attention also began to trickle in from further afield, and today La Cabra is a widely recognised and sought after coffee roaster; we are proud to be working with many valued and quality driven wholesale partners to create bright and transparent coffee experiences in cities across the globe, and with dedicated home users and subscribers in more than 60 countries. Over the past few years we have further expanded our coffee horizons, moving to our larger roastery in Copenhagen, and opening our first international locations in New York, Bangkok and Dubai.

Nature Preserve ApS

Nature Preserve is a sustainability-centered tech startup. We are on a mission to make the food system more transparent and climate-conscious. We believe sustainability should be driven by data. Our primary focus is a web-based SaaS life cycle assessment solution. We help food companies to measure, reduce and communicate the emissions of food products.

NOON Ventures

NOON Ventures is a Copenhagen-based early-stage investor established in 2020. We invest in proven transformative technologies with the potential to significantly impact environmental or climate challenges. Our aim is to become the preferred partner for green entrepreneurs, and we do so by limiting our investments to few companies and working day-to-day with each of them – a fundamentally different approach than traditional early-stage investors. BRØL

BRØL -  foodtech company that designs and develops circular solutions that are pioneered as the world's 1st circular craft brewery. We are all about offering the most sustainable craft beer and driving the change with flavors, sustainability, and diversity. Our startup brewery is bringing more flavor, responsibility, and innovation into craft beer and beverage industry. Not many know, but beer is really resource-intensive to produce and with so much waste being created in our food systems, something has to change. Hence we are developing tech to bring us closer to zero waste and bring the most responsible and damn good-tasting beverages to the market. We are done building our new brewery in February, so if you are up for a visit, then let us know! BRØL is a combination of Danish words for bread and beer translating directly to 'roar' and we ROAR for positive impact and tackle a truly global issue - one sip at a time!

Wally And Whiz

WALLY and WHIZ is based on a dream to make one winegum for the whole world. One world, one winegum. Winegums from WALLY and WHIZ can be eaten by everyone, regardless of religion or cultural preferences. We wish to set a higher bar for how great a winegum can taste. Our winegums are vegan, free from artificial colours or flavours, and are lactose free, glutenfree and free from gelatine. We get our inspiration from all over the world, but with a heritage in the scandinavian culture for using clean, fresh and natural ingredients. We want to challenge the conventional tastes and are not afraid to present unconventional tastes such as turmeric, anisisop, rosehips, pine shoots etc.

Swan Neck Bio

Swan Neck Bio partners with food and biotech companies of any size to scale, commercialize, and deploy their microorganisms. Our vision is a world where there are no constraints to progress for the biosolutions urgently needed by a growing population. Today, food and biotech companies with promising solutions looking to scale are held back by a slow testing phase and huge capital outlays. These unnecessary constraints cause too many businesses to fail before their time. We partner with you to help you trial, validate, and scale your microorganism from lab to 1,000L. This dramatically derisks your scaling process and accelerates your time-to-market. And its 10-100 times cheaper than existing solutions.

Eat Grim

Eat Grim is on a mission to fix our broken food system by fundamentally changing the way people eat. Eat Grim is a platform for ugly and surplus fruits and vegetables. We source the produce directly from farms and bring it back into the food system through a food box subscription that we sell to private consumers, making it easy to eat more sustainably - with exciting business expansion in the pipeline. Every kilo of food sold through Eat Grim is a kilo of food saved from going to waste, which also means savings in water, CO2 and land use along the value chain.

Mellow Chocolate

At mellōw we strive to raise the bar on chocolate. We produce high-end single-origin chocolate following the bean-to-bar principles. All processing of cacao beans into chocolate is done by hand. We source raw cacao beans from small local farmers from across the world and craft the chocolate at our craft shop in Copenhagen, Denmark. We make chocolate from carefully selected cocoa beans from some of the world's unique cocoa origins. We buy exclusively from farmers who grow their cocoa beans under 100% ethical and sustainable conditions.
