In order to maintain Norway's position as the largest and most important ski nation in the world, climatic changes require new thinking, types of facilities, snow technologies, and strategies. HST has a letter of intent with Vestfold county to take over the Holmestrand 1862-meter car tunnel at NOK 1 to be redeveloped into a NOK 200 million all-year-around ski facility for cross country, biathlon, and Paralympics. With SIAT/NTNU and Terje, Grønmo Architects developed an opportunity study ("Mulighetsstudie" found at www.holmestrandskitunnel.no). Business and marketing plan currently at work with University College of Southeast Norway, Campus Kongsberg. Why Holmstrand? Because the town is entering into a stage of comprehensive transformation and development, merging three municipalities into a 24,000 people unit, with a number of developments and construction projects coming up downtown at the seaside during the next 5-20 years and a NOK 6,7 billion state investment in a new railway system that takes passengers to Oslo in 45 minutes. 1 million people can reach Holmestrand in one hour by railway and E18. The railway stop is 100 meters from the future ski facility, which might serve as a magnet for other developments, creating health and social conditions for people at large. With an undeveloped fjord area, there is an opportunity to create a sports hub for unique marine and ski activities. Other projects are Gjelsten's leisure island Langøya, Kullboden (1 acre), Uni Quarter (1 acre) Hakan (might have swimming and hotel facilities, an architect study to be opened this fall), new car-free and covered main street (Langgaten), high stories car and boat parking with the business opportunity, heating/cooling systems (fjernvarme) based on excess energy from ski tunnel and Hydro smelter cooling water being served by an NTNU master study, an extension of 1200 leisure boat facilities and undeveloped south town area under the name Hagemann Brygge. Hagemann, in particular, is an excellent 55,000 sq.m. seafront residential and business opportunity with an option to be developed together with the neighboring ski tunnel. The ski tunnel and Hagemann together with some of the other projects would certainly become a long-term investment opportunity.

The idea behind Koréil was first born in 1998, we just didn’t quite know it yet. As a young girl, our founder and creative director Katarina watched her mother start, and run three jewelry stores from ground up. Her mother was responsible for sourcing all of the jewelry, decorating each of the individual stores (yes, this was way before e-commerce times!) and even customer service and everything in between. Witnessing her mother design the most beautiful jewelry pieces, Katarina was mesmerised by every single product and felt inspired by her vision, creativity and resilience. Since spending her early days at her mom’s boutiques after school, on the weekends and even during holidays, Katarina's dream has been to carry on the vision. We strive to make exposed professions safer by making work wear smarter and connected. To us it’s a no brainer – every workplace should provide a safe, healthy and productive work environment. When you’re at work you may find yourself in vulnerable situations like working alone, in the dark, or during tough weather conditions you should never have to worry about “what if”. Unfortunately there are many exposed professions like truck drivers, construction workers, road side assistance provoders and so on where accidents (sometimes fatal) happen. We believe some of these could be avoided with the use of smart technology. We believe that by combining the ease of use (integrating the technology in the safety wearable you have to have anyway) there is nothing additional that the person need. With integrated AI for fall detection as well as entry/exit of work vehicle detection, together with the connectivity and location mapping we can help making these professions safer. If something were to happen, alarms can be sent so that the person can get help. We are a start-up that took over the development from a major Swedish automotive manufacturer in 2020. In 2022 we launched the first product called the Alert Vest. More products and digital solutions are in the making and will be introduced in the coming months.
