We are witnessing the installation period of bitcoin, where both financial and production capital is beginning to play crucial roles. Entrepreneurial activity is increasing, and investment is flowing into crypto, creating a turning point. Skills to the Future

Skills to the Future, is developing a digital learning platform to help schools to provide supplementary STEM courses in topics where they lack the resources or competence. We think that our present education could be better. Now the content comes more from looking in the rear mirror, than through the windshield. It should take better account of the constant acceleration of our living environment. We want to help the schools to provide our youth education that trends to the future as much as possible. We cannot exactly tell what skills in 10 years are needed, but we can make good guesses and at least show them in the right direction. Our obligation is to give our youth a kick and a spark starting to learn new skills for the future. How we differentiate ourselves from the other course providers? Our pillars 4 are: #1 The quality of pedagogy first We align, curate, and orchestrate all our course material to achieve pedagogic competence and meet the quality requirements of the ‘Finnish Education Standards’. #2 The how: Blended project-based learning with a flipped approach Digital courses mostly rely only on the delivery of educational material. Our digital platform relies on blended open-ended project-based learning with a flipped approach. That means that also we deliver the educational material online but that’s only one-half of what we do. We also deliver teacher/educator lead workshops, Q&As. We want to ensure that the student really can utilize the information given and convert that to skills by practicing aka by doing homework. Just watching videos and answering some quizzes gives you the illusion you have now learned a skill! #3 High impact needs high completion rates By following and complying with the Finnish pedagogical guidelines we aim to raise the completion rate from Udemy like under 10% to over 80%. A raise in engagement is achieved also with help from our 4th pillar. #4 Co-operating and collaborating with the schools We aim to co-operate with the schools by trying to include our courses in each school’s learning curricula and embed them in the school’s teaching environment. We also aim to collaborate with schools by co-creating courses on topics they want. Searching co-workers with a calling I have been working on this project for a couple of years quite loosely. Soon, when the Helsinki Education Hub starts and opens its doors, we are applying to the EdTech Incubator program. So now is the time to onboard and start the cruise, isn’t it? A person on my wish list for co-founders and early team members could be: - a teacher, educator, course builder, or at least be interested in or somewhat familiar with pedagogy. Curating the courses would be one of the tasks - a tech guy who would run and tackle the Learning Management System or Virtual Learning Environment in all its complexities - a hacker, data guy, designer, or whoever who would join testing and building the product/service in the right direction and helping it grow - an audio/video person who would be in building the courses and participating in the marketing activities broadly understood - a content provider because we are going to build ourselves only some MVP’s - there are many other jobs and tasks you could do, so practically anyone who is self-motivated is welcomed to join! My primary target is to have an impact on my activities. Even though money helps in living, I would rather make a ding in the education universe than get wealthy. I prefer diversity in age, gender, and nationality and I am searching for like-minded people who want to share my calling. I am not inviting you to join right away. Working as a co-founder is like marriage, you just can’t quit when you feel like it. Therefore, it’s best for both parties just to make a small project together and after the experiment, we know how we like to proceed. Dry by Design

Vad är bra med regnkläder? Vad är dåligt? Alla har ett förhållande till regn och att bli blöt. Alla har ett behov att kunna hålla sig torr, men man vill att det skall vara smidigt, praktiskt och utseende skall passa in i den miljön man befinner sig i. Jag ser möjligheter att kunna göra det bättre. Att skapa en bättre regnig upplevelse. Det finns många regnplagg på marknaden, för olika tillfällen, tekniska för friluftslivet eller designade för stadslivet. Jag har tagit fram regnkläder som är både stiliga och med praktiska funktioner för stadslivet. Plagg för de tillfällen då det regnar och för de som inte blev av. Genomtänkta lösningar för enkelhet och bekvämlighet. Målet är att göra det lite enklare att välja en mer hållbar livstil även vid sämre väderlek. Parkera bilen, gå eller cykla för din hälsa och miljön. Problemet att man blir blöt är inte att det regnar utan man inte har på sig regnskydd. Regnbyxor tycker man är krångliga att ta på och av sig. I regnplagg blir man varm och svettig och man upplever att det är besvärligt att ta med sig. Det gör att man chansar att man inte blir så blöt eller att regnet håller upp. Många gånger så glömmer man regnplagget hemma och når sitt mål med blöta, kalla byxor. Mina lösningar är så enkla att ta med sig, att du inte ens funderar på att chansa. Och gentemot dagens regnplagg minskar de risken för att du skall bli för varm. De är enkla att ta på och av och de finns där när du behöver dem. Produkterna jag utvecklar är för både när du promenerar eller cyklar allt för att hjälpa dig att hålla dig torr och glad. Jag har utvecklat tre olika plagg och låtit sy upp funktionsprotoyper som jag har verifierat. Varav enbart en modell har jag valt att gå vidare med för tillfället, p.g.a av kostnad och tid. Nyfikenheten i att starta eget har alltid funnits i bakhuvudet på mig. En utmaning där drivkraften är att få arbeta med sina egna visioner och mål.
 Flexibilitet med arbetstider och lokalisering lokalisering med att driva ett eget internet baserat företag ser jag som en väldigt bra fördel. En flytt tillbaka hem till Halmstad och nya förutsättningar gjorde att jag vågade satsa. Jag hade olika produktideér som jag funderade på. Att jag valde just regnplagg var mer en tillfällighet, men ändå inte! Gång- och cykelbanorna i Halmstad ger en bra framkomlighet för cyklister och fotgängare. Det är viktigt för mig att kunna minska min miljöpåverkan. Bilen fick stå - även vid sämre väderlek. Istället blev det med cykel eller till fots fram och tillbaka till olika aktiviter och dagis. På många sätt en skön känsla. Frisk luft, vardagsmotion, minskad miljöpåverkan och mindre kostnad för bränsle till bilen. När det regnar kan det ta emot och kännas lite besvärligt att bege sig ut. Jag möter ofta blöta människor som blivit överraskade av regnet. Jag vill minska detta hinder och göra det mindre besvärligt. Min önskan är att utveckla nya produkter med nära samarbete med användarna för att nå bästa resultat och att hela tiden utmana affärsidén för att skapa möjligheter att bli mer och mer miljövänligare. //Malin

Celxius is building a set of SaaS tools and a marketplace for the Cleantech industry that helps providers bring green energy to more homes faster . Celxius was founded late 2020, by Agustinus Wigeberg and Johan Lind. Agustinus, had after seven years in Cleantech, seen that the installations sector was far from as efficient as it needs to be. As an experienced developer, he knew he could do something to fix it. At the Antler VC accelerator program, he met Johan, an ex corporate executive who had shed his business suit and was longing to build a company that could have a real positive impact. Together, they decided to help reduce carbon dependency by accelerating the renewable energy market. At Celxius, we believe our future on this planet in jeopardy. Some 20 % of greenhouse gas emissions come from the heating and electricity of homes. Transitioning homes around the world to renewable energy needs to be smooth and efficient. At LifeBoard ApS we are designing the new generation of public rescue equipment, a rescue board, that makes a difference. The LifeBoard® ensures that beachgoers as civil rescuers have the necessary tool at hand to safely stabilize an accidents out in the water. We want to increase water safety on beaches by analyzing and customize safety solution with theLifeBoard®. With the LifeBoard® surfboardlooking design it is easier for civil beachgoers to use compared to the lifebuoy ring. The ring is not designed to be used for swimming rescues, but to be thrown from harbors, piers and boats. The lifebuoy ring is considered inefficient on flat beaches, where it is rarely used successfully. The aim with the LifeBoard® is to avoid civil rescuers from becoming a victim in the at- tempt of rescueing another and to decrease swimming-related fatal drownings by 50%. With the LifeBoard® civil rescuers can reach a distressed faster and safer. Safety to avoid a fatal drowning of the civil rescues and/or victims. Fast to save the victim before it is too late, since a drowning can happen in less than 60 sec and reducing the risk of permanent injuries and hospitalisation of near-drowning victims.
