We design mobility aids for a person, not a patient. Mobility is one of the core values in modern life. It’s also a top challenge facing older adults; and adults with disabilities that have impacted their mobility and lifestyle. The current market for assistive walking devices has failed to adequately support this community, with ageist messages and outdated models that denote feelings of dependence and fragility – an inaccurate representation of today’s thriving older adult community. Since 2017, our mindful designs have won some of the world’s most prestigious awards in design and innovation, including the 2019 RedDot Design Award, the 2017 IF Design Award and the Danish Design Award, the title “Most Innovative Startup” by FedEx Europe in 2022 and German Design Award 2024. “by ACRE” is our quality seal. Bumbee Labs measures visitor flows by capturing anonymous Wi-Fi signals in smart mobile phones and can make measurements in both outdoor and indoor environments. The visitor flows are measured completely anonymously and the measurement method is unique in its kind to have an approval from the Swedish Datainspektionen with GDPR taken into account. By using this method, Bumbee Labs can produce very reliable statistics on how many people visit the measurement area during different time intervals, how long visitors stay in the measurement area and what the most common walking paths are.

Fable is a modular construction system that students can use to create their own robot in just a few minutes. The Fable robot system can be used across a range of subjects and classes, allowing students to gain skills they’ll need in the 21st century. The Fable system is composed of three different module types: Function modules, Build modules and Extension modules. Fable is an open-ended system with advanced functionality. Fable encourages students to be both creative and innovative as they build robot prototypes to meet needs in the real world.

WAID helps humanitarian aid organizations deploy aid workers. WAID provides a two-sided marketplace between aid organizations and aid workers. The organizations struggle to deploy enough workers for big projects. The workers want to contribute more than they currently are. WAID marketplace will automatically match organizations with relevant and available personnel for their projects, facilitating volunteer exchange between organizations. This gives the volunteers the opportunity to contribute more frequently to varied projects. For the organizations, this means rapid matchmaking, increased capacity, and savings on recruitment and training costs.

We're solving a very big problem in the world's cities: That we don't know enough about what architecture, urban spaces and services that city-dwellers like and want. With a smartphone app coupled with a data intelligence platform, we retrieve raw data from people on the street and, through intelligent handling of big data, offer a whole new level of insight into what makes a good urban world. These insights will not only help us create better cities to live in — they are also highly monetisable.  NOTE: Formerly called 'Civitize'. Changed to 'CityChange' in spring 2021. --- We are currently four people — spread across Europe. Our Danish co-founder, Anders Ojgaard, has 18 years experience with both start-ups and consulting for some of Denmark's biggest companies and is a well-known figure on the urban design scene in Denmark. He has years of experience working with application design — and equally with urban architecture and communications. He recently left a position as the head of an internet project that had one of Denmark's largest corporations as its investor. Our backend developer has 10+ years of experience and works with a big stack. Significant experience with system architecture, PHP, JavaScript, server setups etc. Now building experience with Python and Swift. We have a product concept, a design and a prototype. We are currently building a MVP, which is going through alpha-testing at the time of writing, summer 2021. Expected launch in August/September. We are too early-stage for funding. We have, however, had an unusual degree of interest — including from both European VCs and one in the US. The aim now is to launch the MVP in a controlled environment (single city), presumably Copenhagen. Once we have built up an initial user-base, we will go back to the investors that have asked to be contacted at this stage. We are currently also laying the ground for collaborations with the biggest cities in Denmark, and have had one top-level meeting about a future partnership. We are currently interested in talking to 1-2 potential co-founders that want to come in at this early stage. At least one of these should be an experienced developer (PHP/Python/Elastic Stack). The other should be a person with relevant experience from start-ups and business development, ideally working with govtech / proptech OR it could be a UI/UX designer with experience with both mobile app design and web app design. The engagement is done through map-based questionnaires that collect GIS-based data.It is mainly applied by cities, consultancies, and universities working in the field of urban and city planning, and research. Mapita Oy, the team behind Maptionnaire, is a Finnish spin-off company from Aalto University's Land Use Planning and Urban Studies research group.
