Speak Norsk is an ambitious team that started with one goal in mind – to make expats fluent in Norwegian! We are passionate about language-learning and bringing to Norway a new, innovative way of teaching Norwegian. Since the beginning, we have been known for our interactive conversation-focused classes, own-written books, and something that it´s not quite common for other schools – a personal approach and a customized offer for each one of our students. EpiGuard AS is an innovative Norwegian Medical Technology Company established in 2015 by a group of doctors at the Oslo University Hospital (OUS) together with co-founders Inven2, Eker Group AS, and Hansen Protection AS. EpiGuard has evolved into a highly skilled knowledge-based company. The business model is to develop and manufacture high-end medical equipment for the safe transport of contagious patients. The products will be distributed globally through strategic partners. Currently, the main product is the medical isolation and transportation system, EpiShuttle. The system is developed by clinical experts at OUS, with first-hand experience in providing advanced treatment and transportation of patients with highly infectious diseases, such as Ebola.

RESPINOR is a privately-owned medical device company, founded in Oslo, 2015. We have developed an objective measure of breathing for critically ill patients within intensive care. The technology provides precise, continuous and real-time information of diaphragm function, our main breathing muscle, to increase the quality of care and reducing costs. RESPINOR’s technology is the winner of Horizon 2020 both in phase I and II. We are addressing an unmet medical need because every breath counts.

Norwegian Oil & Gas Company was founded in 2016. Nor Oil Tools provide innovative tools to both simplify operations and cut costs without changing your whole process. Allowing you to cut your pipes, reduce your costs and improve your HSE. The Nor Tubular Cutter (NTC 325-10S) is the first tool to be released by Noroiltools and was launched in late 2017.

BRIK as is a company specialising in new web technology, pedagogy and professional dissemination of knowledge. The team has extensive experience in the dissemination of knowledge with new web technologies and video. Our investors and partners are Innovation Norway, the Norwegian Research Council and several customer partners. The budget for the initial development phase (2013 - ) has been 12 MNOK. Now we are looking for partners for the next stage, where we will commercialize and increase sales.

A7 was founded in USA late 2015. It was started as a movement dedicated to helping others reaching their full potensial. On the back of all the shirts there is a patented grip that prevents the bar from sliding when you do squats. When you do bench it keeps your body from sliding. Its usable for many other purposes in training as well but that´s the two big ones. 2016 was a true adventure for the Europe company.

Norwegian healthtech startup working on product development & commercialization of Tidewave; a fully automated patient mattress with a unique and total curvature control. The soloution prevents bed soares and other consequenses of immobility while maintaining the need for comfort and safety. Furthermore, this solution will save the health sector for large cost, and at the same time reducing the pain for the users. The Norwegian fashion brand BRGN was founded in 2015 by Ros-Mari Tobiassen Gaundal and Karine Trellevik Lunde. Their mission is to offer great alternatives to the traditional all-weather jacket, through high-quality garments and shoes that can be worn on any occasion and in any kind of weather. Their technical and waterproof products, designed for a functional and urban lifestyle, are now sold by over a hundred retailers in Norway, Germany, France, and the UK in addition to their two concept stores in Oslo and Bergen. BRGN set a new turnover record in 2021, at 25.8 MNOK. Up from 16. MNOK in 2020.

We become more sick from our private lives than our work lives (Modesta Olsen, 2007), and the modern family is the most common family structure (Almendingen, 2010). Which social structures can survive the strain of losing the qualities of faithfulness, honesty, and decency? Cynicism becomes our defense. Depression and feelings of emptiness are the prices we pay. Giving hugs, care, and trust to others not only bring greater happiness - it can also lead to better business. Icebreakercard.com is a new world movement to solve these social challenges. It fights for its vision: Love and friendship locally and globally! Our big goal is to improve your life quality. In this paper, I will present my research findings in the Western world (mainly Norway and USA) and my part of the solution as a social entrepreneur of Icebreakercard.com. A social entrepreneur has been described as our time's hero and heroines. We create solutions where none of the sectors have succeeded well enough. Bad relationships lead to health problems in the population across age and gender. Mental health conditions are now the key concern in all of the OECD countries. The employer and the community take the economic bill when the employee is on sick leave. The disease is a private matter, but absence is not.
