Business Development Lead

Salary Competitive

If you want to run the outbound engine that fills our pipeline, lead a team of BDRs who live on the phone, and own the number that turns into revenue, come join us!

Our AI SDRs handle inbound end to end, from speed-to-lead to qualification. That leaves our BDRs free to do one thing: outbound. Finding the hospitality and retail brands that aren't looking for us yet, and starting the conversation.

Outbound already works for us in the UK and Germany. Now it needs to run as a machine.

We need the person who owns it. Who decides which accounts we go after, in what order, through which channel and with which message. Then measures it, and makes it better every week.

If you want to be the person who leads business development at All Gravy, keep reading!

🥞 The mission

All Gravy is the frontline operating system. One platform for comms, learning, engagement, operations and scheduling, with built-in AI. Think WhatsApp meets Duolingo meets Claude for frontline workers. Used daily by 350+ brands like GAIL's, L'Osteria, Dishoom, 7-Eleven and Honest Burgers.

We're growing 3x year-over-year across the UK, the Nordics and Germany, where revenue has grown 12x since the start of the year.

🎯 The role

You lead our outbound BDR team and own outbound-sourced pipeline: meetings that turn into opportunities, opportunities that turn into revenue, and that our AEs are glad to take.

You lead from the front. You coach, you build the system, and you still pick up the phone.

⚙️ What you get from day one

We invested in RevOps and sales tooling far earlier than most companies our size do. You get to run business development on top of it:

  • Lead lists that build themselves. Accounts are sourced, enriched and assigned to reps automatically, so nobody spends their morning in a spreadsheet.

  • A daily dial deck. Every BDR starts the day with researched accounts and call cards ready, and call outcomes flow back into HubSpot on their own.

  • Hyperbound for practice. BDRs rehearse cold calls, openers and objection handling against AI buyer personas modelled on our ICP, scored against our own scorecards, before they dial a real lead.

  • Every call captured. Attention records and scores real calls, so you coach from what was said.

  • Inbound off your plate. AI SDRs handle every inbound lead, so your team spends all its time on outbound.

  • Reporting you can trust. HubSpot on a Snowflake data layer, with live funnel, pipeline and rep scorecards.

  • A playbook the system runs. Qualification, handoffs and deal stages live in our own GTM Suite. When we change the process, we ship an update.

🔥 What you'll do

  • Own pipeline generation. Set outbound pipeline targets with sales leadership, hit them, and know exactly which segments, markets and plays deliver.

  • Lead and coach the BDR team. Hire, run call reviews, listen in live, and build Hyperbound roleplays for the objections your team keeps losing on. Develop BDRs into AEs. That's how many of ours got there.

  • Use AI where it helps. Agents do the research and personalisation. Your BDRs do the conversations. You decide where that line sits.

  • Sharpen targeted outbound. The lists are there. You decide which segments and markets to push, design the plays across phone, email and LinkedIn, and kill what doesn't work fast.

  • Own outbound conversion. Connect rate, meeting rate, show rate, meeting-to-opportunity. You know where the funnel leaks and you fix it.

  • Work hand in hand with marketing. Tell them which messages and segments land on the phone, and turn events and campaigns into outbound plays.

  • Still dial. You show the team how it's done, and you enjoy it.

🧠 Who you are

  • You've led BDRs. 4+ years in B2B SaaS business development, with at least 1-2 years as a team lead.

  • You beat your pipeline targets. And you can show us the numbers.

  • Cold calling is still your thing. You'd never ask your team to do something you won't.

  • You think in systems. You design the process, the sequences and the reporting. You've built in HubSpot or similar and know your way around Clay, Apollo and the rest.

  • You're AI-first. You use Claude or similar every day for research, personalisation and analysis. You see agents as part of your team, not a threat to it.

  • You make people better. Your BDRs improve every week because you coach them every week, and you make practice a daily habit instead of a quarterly workshop.

  • Excellent English. German is a big plus, as we're scaling DACH fast. Danish, Swedish or Norwegian is a plus too.

🚩 Probably not for you if

  • You want to manage people but stopped dialling a while ago.

  • You measure success in calls and emails sent.

  • You'd rather build your own tooling from scratch than get the most out of a stack that's already running.

  • You see AI as a threat to the BDR role. We think it changes the role, and we want someone excited to define what comes next.

📈 Where this goes

3 months: You know the funnel end to end, your targets are set, every BDR practises in Hyperbound daily, and your first outbound plays by segment and market are live.

6 months: The team hits its pipeline target month after month. Meeting-to-opportunity conversion is up, and you know exactly which plays to scale in each market.

Beyond: As we expand into new markets, you build out the function, toward Head of Business Development.

Working at
All Gravy

All Gravy: All the people stuff in one employee app - built for hospitality Hospitality is one of the largest employment sectors in Europe. It's also one of the most chaotic to operate. The average multi-site restaurant group or hotel brand manages hundreds of hourly workers across dozens of locations - none of whom sit at a desk, have a work email, or receive information through the same channel twice. The result is predictable. New starters show up on day one not knowing what to do. Training happens inconsistently, or not at all. Managers spend half their day answering the same questions on repeat. Communication happens in WhatsApp groups that the business doesn't own, can't audit, and can't control. Staff churn - already the highest of any industry, averaging 75% annually - gets worse. And operators have no way of knowing why. The tools that exist to solve this were built for office workers. They assume laptops, corporate email, and people who sit still. Hospitality doesn't work like that. All Gravy is the fix. We're a communications and learning app built specifically for multi-site hospitality operators - restaurant groups, hotel brands, contract caterers, quick-service chains. Our customers typically manage between 200 and 1,000 staff across multiple locations in the UK, Scandinavia, and Germany. The product gives operators one place to run everything people-related: Staff communications - a branded, structured feed that works like social media. Managers post to the right people by location, role, or team. Employees are notified. Everything is documented. No more WhatsApp chaos. Onboarding journeys - automated, role-specific sequences that start the moment a new hire is added to the system. They arrive on day one prepared, connected to the brand, and knowing what's expected of them. Training and learning - a full LMS designed for deskless workers, supporting both digital courses and in-person sessions, with attendance tracking, completion records, and automated reminders built in. Digital handbooks - a living, searchable library that employees access from their phone. Update once, everyone sees it instantly. No more outdated PDFs or laminated binders no one reads. AI assistant - trained on the operator's own content, not the internet. Employees get instant, accurate answers to questions about policies, procedures, and their role. Managers stop answering the same things over and over. The employee experience looks and feels like a social media app - because that's what people actually use. Adoption is high because the product meets people where they already are. The admin side is a web dashboard where operators build and manage everything centrally, with full visibility into engagement, training completion, onboarding progress, and team sentiment across every location. The problem is big. There are roughly 90 million deskless workers in Europe. Hospitality alone employs millions, with vacancy and churn rates that cost the sector billions in lost revenue every year. The tools available to operators haven't kept up with what the problem actually requires. The opportunity is clear. Operators who invest in their people's experience - making them feel informed, connected, and supported from day one - see measurably lower turnover, better training compliance, and lower management overhead. All Gravy makes that investment easy, scalable, and consistent across every location in a business. We've raised €5.8M+ to date, backed by Moonfire Ventures, Scale Capital, and a syndicate of angels including senior operators and investors from Google, Deliveroo, and Peakon. Our customers include some of the largest hospitality operators in Northern Europe. We're building the operating layer for the front-line hospitality workforce - the infrastructure that makes it possible to run a great team at scale, not just at one site, but across all of them.
