At proprty.ai, we’re building domain-specific AI for data-driven building maintenance and portfolio planning. Our predictive models estimate the condition and remaining lifespan of building components, and we turn that into prioritised maintenance plans across entire portfolios. Our AI agent, Tily, can take action on users' behalf and help them run strategic analysis of their building portfolio, helping large property owners and managers maintain their buildings efficiently, cost-effectively and sustainably.  

The product went live in 2024 and is already solving real problems for real people, with customers across Denmark, Norway, and Germany. There is still so much we can do to make it even better, and you could help shape the future of building maintenance – and how engineering is run at proprty.ai. 

What we're looking for 

We're looking for a player-coach who loves leading engineers and still wants to write code. You might coach a developer through a tricky problem in the morning and ship a feature yourself in the afternoon. 

You've led an engineering team before at a startup or scale-up where the foundations were still being laid, and you know that in a small team, leadership means leading by doing. You care about shipping fast and shipping well. 

We're an AI-first company (it's in our name). You've built AI agents and AI features into real products, and you're excited to push that further, both in what we build for customers and in how the team works. 

About the team 

We're a small but mighty crew of four engineers who love solving tricky problems together, working on-site in our office near Rådhuspladsen. We work closely with our data science team to bring machine learning models trained on millions of m² of building data into the product. We talk a lot (in a good way), pair up when things get tough, and keep the vibe light with plenty of jokes and good energy. 

About the role 

• Lead, coach, and grow the team as a player-coach, while still writing code on core features 

• Own how we build and ship. Our goal is to release several times a week without letting quality, reliability, or security slip 

• Guide the platform's technical direction, including architecture and code quality 

• Design and build AI agents and AI features into the product, and work with Data Science to take models from prototype to production 

• Help turn input from customers, Sales and Customer Success into features the team can build 

• Improve the team's AI tools and workflows (we use Cursor and Perplexity) so everyone can build faste

   

About you 

• You've led an engineering team before at a startup or scale-up, including coaching and hiring developers 

• You have strong hands-on full-stack experience with React, TypeScript and SQL 

• You've built (or have strong interest in) AI agents and AI features in production 

• You take full ownership from design to implementation, and you lead by doing 

• You live in the Copenhagen area (we're in the office 4 days a week)

• Bonus points if you've worked with Postgres and Next.js, or in real estate or proptech
