About IMP Scandinavia

IMP Scandinavia is a Danish MedTech company, founded in 2020 as a spin-out from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). We make a single, reusable, calibration-free sensor that measures every core vital sign - blood pressure, oxygen saturation, pulse rate, respiration rate and peripheral temperature - continuously and wirelessly, to medical-grade accuracy, from the acute ward to the patient's own living room. The device is approved as Class IIb under EU MDR 2017/745 and our quality system is ISO 13485 certified by TÜV SÜD.

We are a team of around eight people with biomedical-engineering and AI expertise. Our vision is to empower healthcare professionals and patients with real-time insights for safer, smarter and more connected care - bridging hospital and home, enabling earlier intervention, saving nurse time and reducing prolonged hospital stays.

The role

You will sit with the commercial team and do the analytical groundwork behind two questions: which markets and care settings we go after next, and how we win the commercial engagements in front of us. Your market sizing, competitor work and account briefs feed directly into decisions the leadership team actually makes - and you will be in the room when they are made.

Selling a Class IIb medical device means long cycles and a buying committee: clinicians, nursing, biomedical engineering, IT security, infection control, procurement and finance, each with their own case to be made and a veto to use. You will learn to read that landscape and build the evidence that moves it.

What you'll work on

Market sizing & prioritisation

Build bottom-up market sizing (TAM/SAM/SOM) by care setting - acute and post-operative wards, hospital-at-home, nursing and elder care - and by geography across the Nordics and Europe.

Competitive intelligence

Maintain a living view of wearable and multi-parameter monitoring players: their approved intended use, pricing, business models and partnerships. Keep our battlecards current.

Market access & funding routes

Desk research on how remote monitoring gets paid for in each market - budgets, tariffs, tenders and procurement frameworks - compiled for validation by our market-access and regulatory advisers.

Commercial engagements

Prepare account and opportunity briefs, stakeholder maps and tender screening ahead of customer and partner meetings.

Analysis & modelling

Build the cases that convince a buyer: cost-offset and budget-impact models, pricing scenarios, pipeline and conversion analysis.

Commercial data & reporting

Support CRM data hygiene and our commercial KPI reporting, so the pipeline we discuss is the pipeline we actually have.

Turning analysis into decisions

Translate all of the above into short, decision-ready memos and slides for leadership and the board.

Who we're looking for

Essential:

•     Final-year bachelor's or master's student in economics, business, management, health economics, biomedical engineering with a commercial profile, or similar.

•     Strong in Excel and structured problem-solving - comfortable building an estimate from scratch and defending your assumptions.

•     Clear written English; able to turn messy research into a one-page argument.

•     Genuine curiosity about healthcare systems: how hospitals decide, how care gets funded.

•     Self-driven. We will give you real ownership; you need to run with it.

Nice to have:

•     Exposure to consulting-style analysis or a prior commercial internship.

•     Interest in health economics, MedTech or digital health.

What you get out of it

•     Real ownership. Your own workstreams, named in the plan - not research errands.

•     Proximity. Direct work with the co-founders and the commercial team in a company of eight people.

•     A rare apprenticeship. First-hand experience of commercialising an approved medical device in a regulated market.

•     Mentoring and a reference. Structured supervision from our Chief Commercial Officer, regular feedback and a written recommendation on completion.

•     A possible next step. Scope for a continued student position, thesis collaboration or a graduate role, subject to fit.
