(Senior) Regulatory Reporting Specialist

Salary Competitive

Banking hasn't changed much in decades. We're changing that. One product at a time.

Lunar is a Nordic challenger bank building the future of financial life with AI at the core. Our engineers, designers, and product people work on problems that actually matter. Making money simpler, smarter, and more rewarding for millions of people across the Nordics.

Fully licensed and founded in 2015, with offices in Copenhagen, Aarhus and Stockholm.

We move fast, we build with purpose, and we're just getting started.

As our new Senior Regulatory Reporting Specialist you'll join the Capital & Regulatory Reporting team based in Copenhagen, reporting to Meinhard — bringing your regulatory reporting expertise into a role where you'll translate regulatory frameworks into documented, validated reporting logic, drive quality review across our reporting perimeter, and help position CRR as the internal SME that Lunar's product and tech teams can build with.

The CRR team carries a wide mandate: financial regulatory reporting, capital and liquidity governance, and Treasury controls. In practice, that means safeguarding the bank's financial integrity, ensuring regulatory submissions meet the standard that regulators, investors, and our customers can rely on.

We're expanding the team — you'll be one of two specialists sharing ownership of financial regulatory reporting. We don't operate in silos — capital and liquidity governance and Treasury controls sit within the same team, and you'll gain exposure to all areas, whilst focusing on regulatory reporting. Cross-coverage is built into how we operate, regardless of who is in the office.

What will you do?

  • Regulatory execution. Take shared ownership of the team's regulatory reporting perimeter — COREP, MFI statistical reporting to Danmarks Nationalbank, KRGS, and DFSA reports — running submissions from source data through to submission.

  • Quality review. Validate calculation logic and data sources against regulatory source text — CRR, CRD, and EBA guidelines — identify gaps, and document findings as validated methodology, SOPs, and concrete improvement requirements.

  • Process improvement. Build reporting workflows that go beyond spreadsheet-based solutions — structured, reproducible, and suited to the complexity of the task — reducing manual dependency and making how we run submissions as reliable as the submissions themselves.

  • Regulatory horizon. Stay ahead of what's changing — assess the reporting implications of new Lunar products before they launch, and interpret incoming regulatory frameworks early enough to make adjustments before they become urgencies.

  • Stakeholder engagement. Act as CRR's regulatory voice across the organisation — translating requirements into data and system specifications for Lunar's product and tech teams, and engaging Treasury and Accounting on data flows and reporting logic.

What are we looking for in you?

  • Hands-on experience owning regulatory submissions independently — running reports end-to-end and standing behind the numbers.

  • The habit of going to the source — you read CRR, CRD, and EBA guidelines directly, validate methodology against regulatory text, and can defend a calculation.

  • Strong analytical and documentation skills — you think in structured processes, produce clear methodology, and leave things better documented than you found them.

  • Data literacy that goes beyond standard spreadsheet tools — comfortable with structured data, reproducible workflows, and specifying data requirements for technical teams; experience with SQL or similar is a meaningful plus.

  • Clear and confident communicator across levels — you can translate a regulatory argument for a non-regulatory audience, and engage credibly with data engineers, product managers, and senior stakeholders alike.

Bonus if you bring:

  • Familiarity with the EBA taxonomy and DPM, and experience with regulatory reporting platforms such as Regnology or Adenza.

  • Exposure to Danish-specific reporting requirements — KRGS, MFI statistical reporting, or DFSA submissions.

  • Experience contributing to ICAAP, ILAAP, capital plans, or regulatory stress testing processes

A year from now, you'll have taken reports that ran on inherited processes and given them a documented, validated regulatory foundation — caught gaps that would otherwise have stayed hidden, and built the platform for CRR to move from submitting reports to shaping what gets built.

What you get

  • 4 days working from the office. We're a team that builds together, thinks together, and moves together. Showing up is part of how we work.

  • State of the art equipment. The newest computer, monitor, mouse, and keyboard. We want you to do your best work without anything slowing you down.

  • Pension, health insurance, and enhanced parental leave. From your financial future to your family moments. We've got you covered.

Are you ready to join the journey? Apply now and let's find out more! We'll begin reviewing applications from mid-August.
