Your role as a Staff Product Manager

As Staff Product Manager for Payments, you will own the strategy for our payment systems and act as the product counterpart to our Staff Engineer. Together, you will design and scale a cloud‑native, PCI DSS‑compliant payments platform that can support European growth, regulation and margin goals. This role is for someone who wants to work on system-level decisions – from payment rails and pricing models to how the platform is exposed across products and markets.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Define the long‑term payment strategy (12–24+ months) across gateways spanning both e-Comm and in-store payments and payment orchestration, and secure executive alignment on our roadmap to becoming a PayFac in Europe.

• Drive the business model evolution from revenue‑share to Buy Rate and PayFac, shaping pricing, packaging and GTM for our payment capabilities (including IC++ and blended rate models).

• Run discovery and analytics at platform scale, turning market, regulatory and technical signals into portfolio‑level priorities with clear success metrics and monetization plans.

• Act as a cross‑org partner to engineering, design, commercial and operations, ensuring technical execution (reliability, latency, auditability, reconciliation, API design) serves clear business outcomes.

• Mentor senior PMs and help define what “excellence” in product management looks like for the payments domain at Shine.

📍 Job located in Copenhagen with possibility of two remote working days per week.

About you

• You have extensive product management leadership experience (Staff or Principal level) in the payments industry, working on high‑volume, low‑latency systems where basis points matter.

• You bring a strong track record in PCI DSS‑compliant services, financial calculation accuracy and operating in regulated EU environments.

• You are confident in commercial strategy for payments, including pricing models (IC++, Buy Rate), GTM execution and partnership structures.

• You communicate clearly with executive, technical and commercial stakeholders and know how to build coalitions around complex strategic bets.

• You are experienced in portfolio‑level discovery and analytics, and comfortable setting priorities that balance platform investment, regulatory expectations and growth.
