About Skiftr

Skiftr focuses on solving workforce redeployment caused by AI and economic downturns. When automation or a downturn reshapes an industry, millions of people are left to figure out what they can do next, and the hardest part is rarely the loss itself, but not knowing where to go.

We help people understand the skills they already have, see how those skills translate as the market shifts, and find a direction forward, including paths they'd never have considered on their own. McKinsey estimates around 12 million job transitions a year in Europe alone; helping people make those moves with confidence is one of the defining challenges of the coming decade.

We're backed by Google and EIFO. We've built and released our first product, it has landed well in the market, and now we're scaling.

To accomplish our mission, we have built entirely new data infrastructure that is able to listen to the entire Nordic market in real time.

We have gathered the strongest people in the industry to solve this mission, including senior leaders from McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Goldman Sachs, and Heidrick & Struggles.

The role

We're looking for someone to design and run our lifecycle email program - the messages that guide users from signup through activation, engagement, and retention. This is a strategy-and-execution role: you'll decide what gets sent, when, and to whom, then build and write it yourself.

You don't need to write the backend code that fires the triggers - we have engineering support for the integration layer. What we need is the person who owns the logic and the message: mapping the user journey, defining the triggers, segmenting the audience, and writing copy that converts.

This role is a limited time position, focused on setting up, deploying and get the wheels rolling. You can be independent or part of an agency.

What you'll own

  • Map the end-to-end customer lifecycle for a B2C SaaS product: onboarding, activation, engagement, churn risk, win-back, and upsell moments.

  • Define trigger logic for each stage (e.g., "no activation event 3 days post-signup," "usage drop after 14 days," "renewal approaching").

  • Build and manage flows in our email/marketing automation platform, including segmentation and personalization rules.

  • Write the email and in-app messaging copy for each flow.

  • Set up A/B tests, monitor open/click/conversion performance, and iterate on flows based on results.

  • Partner with our engineering team on event tracking needs and data requirements to support new triggers.

  • Engineers will deliver the events, but you need to connect everything else end to end.

What we're looking for

  • Hands-on experience with a marketing automation / ESP platform (e.g., Klaviyo, Braze, Customer.io, Iterable, or similar).

  • A track record of designing lifecycle/retention email programs for a B2C product - not just executing campaigns someone else designed.

  • Strong copywriting skills; comfortable writing the actual emails, not just briefing them.

  • Working knowledge of event-based triggers and how they connect to product/analytics data (PostHog a plus).

  • Comfortable reading performance data and using it to prioritize what to build next.

Nice to have

  • Experience in an early-stage or scaling SaaS startup.

  • Interest or experience with rhetorical work

Where we are today

  • We have paying users, and we have events that we track. We understand out users well, but no one is dedicated to looking at communicating to them - yet.

  • We are not locked in to any CRM or marketing platform, but we want to reuse PostHog as much as possible.

Practical details

  • Location: In-person in Gentofte

  • Compensation: For this contract, you'll be asked to give an estimate of time and cost.

  • Start date: as soon as possible, by agreement

Process

  • Skiftr is anti-ghosting, and we reply to all applications, although we are unable to give detailed feedback for each application.

Skiftr

Skiftr focuses on solving workforce redeployment caused by AI and economic downturns. When automation or a downturn reshapes an industry, millions of people are left to figure out what they can do next - and the hardest part is rarely the loss itself, but not knowing where to go. That's the moment Skiftr exists for. We help each person understand the skills they already have, see how those skills translate as the market shifts, and find a direction forward - including paths they'd never have considered on their own. It's a hard problem. A person's experience rarely maps neatly onto a single job title, and demand for skills moves faster than most people can track. We turn messy, real-world career histories into a clear picture of what someone is capable of and where that capability is valued. McKinsey estimates around 12 million job transitions a year in Europe alone. Helping people make those moves with confidence is one of the defining challenges of the coming decade. Underneath is a live model of how skills, roles and the labour market connect, rebuilt continuously
