Phone.inc is the future small-business phone. 15 years ago I co-founded Firmafon, today the biggest SMB telco in Denmark under its new brand Relatel. Since then technology has changed, markets have opened, and I have learned a ton. Now I am on a mission to reinvent what a small business phone looks like in the age of global infrastructure and AI.

We are building a great team in Copenhagen, backed by initial investment from top European venture capital firms. We want engineers and designers who are passionate about small businesses and driven to solve our customers' problems.

We will be a small team, so you are interested in a broad role, not one focused on a single area. When needed you jump into our other systems, like the backend or AI processing pipeline. Joining now is stepping into a creative workshop with an almost blank canvas, with me as a very opinionated conductor. You will have a core role and real impact in defining, building, and bringing our product to market.


How we work

We are international from day one, in our culture and the markets we serve. I have a clear picture of our V1 and how to shave it down to something we can ship fast. From there it is a team effort to learn what the market needs. Everyone, from sales to engineers, should have strong empathy for our customers, and we bring that customer love into our product work. We keep a small leadership team (right now just me) and decide quickly. We believe in empowerment and are not limited by our job descriptions. We like shipping fast, but we value simplicity and quality more. It is all a balancing act. We are together in the office 2 to 3 days a week, balancing high bandwidth and deep work.


How we build

AI Agentic engineering is how we work, not a side experiment. We live in Cursor and Claude Code every day, and we reach for AI first, before we solve a problem any other way. You default to solving problems with agents, and you know when a plain script or proven tool is the better call. You are already fluent with tools like Cursor and Claude Code, and you push them to do more. You use AI to move faster without lowering the bar on taste, simplicity, or quality, and you want to help shape how a company is built in the age of AI.


What we expect

You love small business owners and are motivated by solving their problems; code is merely the tool to do it. You enjoy working up and down the stack and find real-time technology interesting (WebRTC, realtime AI, CallKit/ConnectionService). As a product engineer you care about the look and feel; the total experience matters to you. You thrive in the massive void of an early-stage startup. You challenge us, and want to be challenged too.
