Founding Head of Growth

Salary Unpaid

Help us get Kora from 0 to 50,000 users

Most marketers know how to spend a budget.

We’re looking for someone who knows how to create growth before there is one.

Kora is building a new kind of personal safety platform for young people. We’ve launched our MVP, have an experienced founding team, and are now looking for the person who will own one of the hardest and most important challenges in the company: acquiring our first 50,000 users.

This isn’t a role where you’ll manage agencies or inherit a marketing machine.

You’ll build it.

About Kora

Kora helps people feel safer in everyday life. Whether you’re walking home alone, going for a run, travelling, or simply want someone looking out for you, Kora gives you trusted safety features designed for the moments that matter.

Users can share their live journey with people they trust, quickly alert their network if they feel unsafe, and activate an SOS to share their live location with nearby responders and emergency contacts when they need help most.

We’re building a consumer product with global ambitions, and user growth is one of the company’s biggest priorities.

The role

You’ll own our entire user acquisition strategy.

Your job is to figure out how we consistently acquire high-quality users, understand exactly why they join, what makes them stay, what drives referrals, and where we should invest next.

You’ll work closely with our designer, content creator, founders and the rest of the team to turn insights into experiments and experiments into repeatable growth.

This is an extremely hands-on role.

One day you might be designing an onboarding experiment, the next analysing retention cohorts, setting up attribution, briefing creators, launching referral tests, negotiating partnerships, or building dashboards that help the entire company make better decisions.

Everything we do should be measurable.

What you’ll own

  • You’ll define and execute Kora’s user acquisition strategy from day one.

  • You’ll build our growth stack, attribution and analytics so we understand exactly where every user comes from and what drives activation, retention and referrals.

  • You’ll design, prioritise and run continuous growth experiments across paid, organic, creator, ambassador, partnership and community channels.

  • You’ll identify, build and own partnerships that can accelerate user growth, from student organisations and universities to brands, communities and other organisations that reach our target audience.

  • You’ll work with our content team to ensure creative is driven by data rather than opinions.

  • You’ll identify product improvements that increase activation and retention and work closely with the product team to implement them.

  • You’ll build a culture where decisions are driven by evidence rather than assumptions.

We’re looking for someone who…

  • Has experience growing consumer products, ideally in an early-stage environment.

  • Lives in data and gets excited by funnels, cohorts, retention curves and experimentation.

  • Has built growth systems rather than simply managed campaigns.

  • Is comfortable switching between strategy and execution multiple times a day.

  • Knows how to identify leverage instead of simply increasing spend.

  • Thrives in ambiguity and enjoys solving problems that don’t yet have playbooks.

  • Is humble and kind, and enjoys building with other good people. We don’t work with brilliant jerks.

What we offer

The role will initially be part-time (approximately 10-20 hours per week), with the ambition of becoming full-time as the company grows.

This is not a salaried position initially.

We’re bootstrapped and have already launched our MVP. The role comes with a meaningful warrant package and the opportunity to build one of the company’s most important functions from the ground up.

For the right person, this could become a key leadership role as Kora scales.

Interested?

Send us your LinkedIn profile together with a few sentences explaining why this role excites you and, most importantly, tell us about something you’ve grown that you’re genuinely proud of.

We’re far more interested in what you’ve built than the titles you’ve held.
