We’re looking for an experienced Data Scientist to help build the intelligence layer powering the future of board recruitment.
At Boardway, we’re creating specialized AI and search technology for board and advisory recruitment. Finding the right board member requires much more than matching skills to a job description. Leadership experience, industry expertise, board composition, strategic fit, and long-term company needs all influence the outcome. Generic recruiting software wasn’t built for these challenges.
You’ll help define how candidates are evaluated, ranked, matched, and recommended across the platform. As an early member of the team, you’ll have significant influence on the product, algorithms, and business logic that power our decision-making systems.
Design and improve matching, ranking, scoring, and recommendation systems
Develop methodologies for evaluating candidate-company fit
Apply AI and LLMs to automate research, enrichment, and decision-support workflows
Analyze candidate, company, and market data to improve matching quality and platform outcomes
Design experiments and evaluation frameworks to measure performance and relevance
Build prototypes and rapidly validate new ideas through experimentation
Work closely with product and engineering teams to turn business problems into intelligent systems
5+ years of experience working on data-driven products, AI applications, recommendation systems, or decision-support systems
Strong Python skills and experience working with structured and unstructured data
Hands-on experience applying LLMs and modern AI techniques to real-world business problems
Experience designing scoring models, ranking systems, matching algorithms, or recommendation engines
Strong analytical thinking and a research-oriented mindset
Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into measurable solutions
Comfortable working independently and owning projects from concept to implementation
Experience with recruitment, talent intelligence, marketplace, or search products
Experience with bias detection, fairness evaluation, and ranking optimization
Experience fine-tuning models or building evaluation pipelines
Experience working with graph-based data, recommendation systems, or knowledge retrieval
