Product Developer (Technical Furniture Development)

Salary Competitive

NORNORM is transforming the way businesses furnish their spaces through a subscription-based model rooted in circular economy principles.

As our circular business continues to scale, the focus is shifting from creating new products to continuously improving and optimizing existing products for repeated use, refurbishment and long-term performance.

As our new Product Developer, you will play a key role in shaping how furniture is developed, improved and scaled for a circular business model, where product performance is measured not only at first delivery, but across multiple lifecycles.

In this role, your focus will be on the technical product development centred around durability, functionality, operational performance and circular scalability while your creative colleagues in Range Innovation will focus on aesthetics and new range creation.

What you will be doing:

In this role, you will lead NORNORM’s product improvement agenda in close collaboration with the Product Team, Product Forum, Sourcing, Quality, Operations and external suppliers. Your responsibilities include:

  • Define and drive the product improvement agenda based on product performance data, operational insights, supplier input and market feedback.

  • Lead structured range reviews and translate commercial, customer and operational needs into clear priorities and product improvement briefs.

  • Drive product improvement projects from problem identification to implementation, coordinating suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver durable, functional and operationally strong solutions.

  • Contribute to NORNORM’s circular design principles, ensuring products are designed for durability, repairability, refurbishment and repeated use.

What you bring:

We’re looking for someone with a strong technical furniture development background who is comfortable challenging traditional product development processes and helping define new standards for circular furniture.

We imagine that you have:

  • A relevant educational background within Mechanical Engineering, Product Development, Furniture Engineering, Industrial Design with a strong technical focus or similar.

  • 5-7 years of experience within furniture product development.

  • Strong technical understanding of furniture construction, materials, production methods and cost drivers.

  • Experience working closely with suppliers on product development, technical problem-solving and product improvements.

  • Ability to define requirements, specifications and product briefs, and independently lead development projects from idea to implementation.

  • Ability to translate product feedback, operational input and performance issues into clear, prioritised product improvements and technical requirements.

  • A structured, analytical and pragmatic approach with strong execution capabilities.

Why join NORNORM?

Joining NORNORM means becoming part of a company challenging the traditional furniture industry through circularity, long-term thinking and a fundamentally different approach to how furniture is developed, used and reused.

In this role, you’ll work closely with products, suppliers, and operations, and you will play a central role in strengthening how circular furniture is continuously developed and improved.

We offer a collaborative, high-trust environment with significant ownership, short decision paths, and the opportunity to make a visible impact across both the product range and the wider business.

Our culture is shaped by our values - we care, we dare, we do, we make simple easy - and by people who are curious, courageous and motivated by building something meaningful together.

Practicalities

  • This role follows an office-first hybrid setup. We value both flexibility and collaboration, and our rule of thumb is simple: more on-site than off-site.

  • Please note that we unfortunately do not offer relocation support or visa sponsorship. Existing permission to work in Denmark is therefore a mandatory requirement.
