We're looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer who wants to build the interface layer of a product that's actually changing how lawyers work. You'll be shaping how legal professionals across Europe interact with AI-powered legal research, working on the kind of UI problems that don't have textbook answers: streaming AI reasoning, dense document interfaces, and search that has to feel instant on top of millions of legal sources. If you care deeply about craft, like ambiguity, and want a lot of room to shape what gets built, keep reading.
Our ambition is to be the leading platform for legal research globally, and build the largest AI-powered legal database. We're redefining how legal knowledge is accessed, understood, analyzed and applied.
Our platform simplifies legal research using artificial intelligence, intelligent search, and constantly updated legal sources.
Pandektes has raised more than €4 million and most recently closed a €2.9 million seed round (Feb 2025) led by People Ventures, Interface Capital, and leading angels. Pandektes already serves more than 350 customers across Denmark, Germany and Switzerland.
You'll have real room to shape both what we build and how we build it. You'll work across our most ambitious surfaces: the document viewer where lawyers read and annotate legislation and case law, the AI chat that walks them through complex legal reasoning, and the search and navigation layer that ties it all together.
This is a role for someone who cares about craft. We move fast, but we don't ship sloppy. You'll partner closely with design, product, and our backend and ML teams to take features from rough idea to polished production experience, and you'll have meaningful influence on the technical direction of the frontend as the team grows.
Own end-to-end implementation of frontend features in our React, Next.js, and TypeScript codebase, from architecture decisions to shipping polished UI
Build and maintain our most complex surfaces: AI chat with streaming reasoning, PDF and document viewers, modal stacks, search and navigation
Help shape our component library and frontend architecture as we scale our team
Partner with design and product to turn ambiguous problems into shipped features that legal professionals actually love using
Raise the bar for quality across the team through code review, technical direction, and shared standards
5+ years of frontend experience, with deep expertise in React and TypeScript
Strong working knowledge of Next.js (App Router preferred)
Solid CSS fundamentals and comfort with a modern styling approach (Tailwind, CSS modules, or similar)
A track record of shipping complex stateful UIs in production, not just CRUD forms
Strong product instincts and design sensibility. You spot bad UX and propose better
Direct, low-ego communication. You give and take feedback well, and you lift teammates up
Curiosity about the domain. You want to understand the why behind what users need, not just build the ticket
Experience integrating with LLM APIs (streaming responses, tool calls, structured outputs)
PDF or document viewer work, annotation, or other heavy-content rendering
Design-system or component-library ownership
Accessibility (WCAG) experience
Some backend or full-stack comfort (Node, basic API work)
Legal-tech, fintech, or another regulated-domain background
