Ecommerce Consultant

Are you passionate about growing ambitious ecommerce brands through sharp, detail-oriented consultancy and digital execution? At Mercive, we are looking for a tech-savvy Ecommerce Consultant to join our growing team in Copenhagen. If you thrive in the intersection of ecommerce, customer experience, and technology and enjoy making things work behind the scenes, this role might be for you.

About Mercive

Mercive is a fast-growing ecommerce agency based in Copenhagen. We build digital commerce experiences through strategy, design, and technology. We partner with some of the most ambitious brands in fashion, lifestyle, and DTC, helping them scale across markets, channels, and complexity. Whether it is launching loyalty programs, enabling international growth, or migrating platforms, our work lives at the intersection of ecommerce, tech, and creativity.

We believe AI is fundamentally changing how ecommerce operates, from how we work internally to how we help clients grow. We're actively integrating AI into our workflows and client projects, not as a gimmick, but as a serious multiplier for quality and speed.

What you will do

As an Ecommerce Consultant, you will be a strategic partner to our clients, helping them grow through focused consultancy, well-prioritized roadmaps, and hands-on ecommerce expertise. You will drive the conversation with clients on how to get the most out of Shopify, their tech stack, and their digital presence. On larger projects like platform migrations, you will be a key person in helping clients land in Shopify in the best way possible by consulting on store structure, data migration, URL strategy, and technical setup.

You will also help drive the product development roadmap for our internal tools and serve as a client success manager for clients using them, making sure they get real value and feeding insights back into the product.

You will work closely with developers, designers, and specialists internally, as well as key stakeholders on the client side.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Owning and developing client roadmaps, identifying growth opportunities and prioritizing initiatives across their ecommerce setup

  • Playing a central consulting role in platform migration projects, advising on how to best structure a client's move to Shopify (products, orders, customer data, redirects, etc.)

  • Driving SEO and GEO (generative engine optimization) strategy to ensure clients are visible across both traditional search and AI-driven discovery, including hands-on use of Google Search Console

  • Helping shape the roadmap for Mercive's internal products by bringing client needs and market insights to the table

  • Serving as a client success manager for clients onboarded to our tools, ensuring adoption, value delivery, and ongoing feedback loops

  • Advising on personalization and merchandising strategy using tools like Nosto, Rebuy, and Hello Retail to improve product discovery and conversion

  • Enabling internationalization, multi-market setups, conversion rate optimization, and data tracking

  • Working actively with A/B split testing for larger clients to optimize performance

  • Providing consultancy on 3rd party tools (CRM, subscriptions, upsell apps, etc.) and guiding clients on the right solutions for their needs

  • Supporting implementation of subscription, loyalty programs, product reviews, and similar tools when needed

  • Exploring and adopting AI tools to improve how you work, whether that's automating repetitive tasks, speeding up research, or finding smarter ways to solve client problems

The ideal candidate

You are detail-oriented, structured, and curious. You think commercially and understand that your job is to help clients grow, not just configure tools. You are technical enough to understand what's happening under the hood, and consultative enough to guide a client through complex decisions like a platform migration, a multi-market launch, or a complete rethink of their tech stack. You are comfortable leading the conversation with clients and translating business goals into actionable plans that our team can deliver on.

You are:

  • Commercially minded and focused on driving client growth

  • Tech-savvy and excited to learn new platforms and tools

  • Proactive and comfortable leading client relationships independently

  • Passionate about ecommerce and user experience

  • Structured and able to prioritize across projects and timelines

  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats, from strategic consulting to client success to product thinking

  • Curious and constantly looking to improve how things are done, including through AI and automation

  • Someone who sees AI as a practical tool, not a buzzword, and is eager to figure out where it adds real value

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years experience in ecommerce, digital consultancy, or a similar role

  • Hands-on experience with Shopify, Klaviyo, and digital tooling

  • Understanding of ecommerce operations and customer lifecycle

  • Experience with project management tools like Jira, Trello, Asana, or similar

  • Experience with personalization and merchandising tools (e.g. Nosto, Rebuy, Hello Retail) is a plus

  • Experience with platform migration or enablement projects is a plus

  • Interest in or experience with SEO, Google Search Console, and emerging areas like AI visibility and GEO

  • Familiarity with AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar) or a strong willingness to learn

  • Experience with scripting in Node.js, Python, or similar is a plus (even if it's with the help of AI)

  • Strong communication skills in English (Danish is a plus)

What we offer

  • A chance to work with some of the most exciting ecommerce brands in the Nordics

  • A talented and ambitious team that moves fast and supports each other

  • Central office location in Copenhagen

  • Flexibility and responsibility from day one

  • Focus on development through feedback, sparring, and learning opportunities

  • Monthly team events and social activities

  • Daily lunch at the Restaurant Lalala

  • Friday bars & fun social events

  • 25 paid vacation days per year

  • Beautiful office located by the water at Christianshavn

  • Paid inspiration trips (events, conferences, etc).
