OceanPass is building the infrastructure layer for trusted emissions data in global shipping.
We work with charterers, banks, and cargo owners who need accurate, auditable voyage emissions data — not spreadsheets and guesswork. Our platform sits between commercial decisions and regulatory reality. When a voyage is reported, we make sure the numbers hold up.
We are a small, focused team. We move fast, work directly with customers, and care deeply about data integrity. If the numbers are wrong, nothing else matters.
We’re hiring a student assistant to support our Product & Data team in scaling our voyage data validation process.
You will work hands-on with real customer voyage reports. Your job is to make sure that what comes in is correct, complete, and consistent before it becomes part of the product our clients rely on.
This is not passive admin work. It’s operational quality control at the heart of a growing data product.
Review voyage report templates before they go live in our system
Compare uploaded Excel files against database outputs and dashboard results
Validate key figures (fuel consumption, transport work, emissions factors, dates, distances)
Identify inconsistencies and document them clearly: what you saw, why it’s wrong, how to reproduce it
Flag missing or suspicious data early
Help structure repeatable validation routines so we catch issues systematically
Keep trackers clean and up to date
Over time, you’ll help us turn manual checks into smarter validation workflows.
This role rewards people who are:
Highly detail-oriented
You notice when one number doesn’t reconcile with another. You don’t ignore inconsistencies.
Comfortable with structured data
Strong Excel skills are essential: filtering, pivot tables, lookups, comparing datasets, tracing formulas.
Technically curious
Basic SQL or Python experience is a plus. You don’t need to be an engineer, but you shouldn’t be intimidated by data or logic.
Clear communicators
When something is wrong, you explain it concisely. No drama. Just facts and clarity.
Proactive by default
We will not always tell you what to do next.
If you see a recurring issue, you propose a fix.
If a check can be standardized, you suggest how.
If something feels inefficient, you say so — with a solution.
We’re building systems. Not patching symptoms.
Like working methodically, even when data is messy
Enjoy solving “why does this number look off?” problems
Take ownership instead of waiting for instructions
Want exposure to how a real product ships safely into production
Are comfortable in a small team where your work directly matters
Interest in analytics, product quality, or data engineering
Curiosity about sustainability, maritime, logistics, or emissions reporting
Direct exposure to how a data product operates behind the scenes
Real responsibility from day one
Mentorship on debugging, validation logic, and structured problem solving
A close-up view of how product, engineering, and operations work together
If you perform well, this role can grow.
Part-time, flexible hours (fits around studies)
Copenhagen-based, in-person preferred (hybrid during exam periods)
Start: ASAP
Minimum 6 months
