The Business Controlling team at Shine

Over the next year we will create a best-in-class business finance unit, automate reporting cycles and build a team where we spend our time creating insights to help the business grow and evolve, to ensure we deliver and exceed our top-line targets.


Your role as a Head of Business Controlling

As a Senior Business Controller, you will work within a dynamic, international environment to drive business performance, support strategic decision-making, and communicate financial insights effectively. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of topline reporting, partake in developing KPI frameworks, and providing financial analysis that guides leadership decisions.

This position involves strategic financial analysis, collaboration, and hands-on execution in a fast-paced, cross-border business environment.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Take part in the internal topline reporting across various markets, ensuring reports are accurate, consistent, and insightful.

  • Create clear, actionable views of revenue, growth factors, and performance trends.

  • Transform complex datasets into meaningful insights to facilitate decision-making throughout the company.

  • Work closely with colleagues across multiple countries, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.

  • Help build a team environment focused on trust, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Mentor and support controllers and managers to strengthen business partnering skills.

  • Embody ownership, integrity, and cross-border collaboration.

  • Drive improvements in controlling processes, reporting structures, and analytical tools.

  • Advocate for automation, simplification, and scalable solutions.

  • Ensure the controlling function adapts with the organization's growth.

  • Take ownership of a part of the month-end narrative, ensuring results are clearly communicated and understood by stakeholders.

  • Link actuals, trends, and forecasts to present a cohesive financial story.

  • Maintain consistency between financial data, analysis, and messaging.


📍 Job located in Copenhagen or Berlin, with possibility of two remote working days per week


About you

  • Experience in complex international settings, growth-stage companies, or high-performing finance teams.

  • Strong background in business controlling, performance measurement, and financial analysis.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with and support senior leadership across countries.

  • Advanced proficiency with PowerPoint, Google Slides, Excel, and Google Sheets.

  • Track record of influencing stakeholders and leading through collaboration and comfortable taking initiative and ownership in a dynamic environment.

  • Highly data literate; able to connect systems, KPIs, and business insights.

  • Excellent communication skills and able to articulate complex topics clearly and persuasively.

  • Skilled at translating financial data into impactful business stories.

  • Excellent English (written and spoken).

  • French, German, Spanish is a plus.
