Are you someone who understands what it’s like to work as a developer—but now find yourself more engaged by how people collaborate, grow, and succeed together than by shipping features yourself? Do you enjoy supporting others through feedback, clarity, and honest conversations, especially in environments with high autonomy and strong opinions?
If you’re motivated by helping engineers do their best work in a flat organization with big ambitions—and you’re comfortable operating without owning delivery, roadmaps, or technical decisions—keep reading. This could be your next opportunity.
You’ll report directly to the CTO and work closely with technical leaders across the organization.
Since 2016, Adversus has aimed to be a market leader in sales acceleration, thriving in a field that demands high quality and flexible solutions. Over the years, we’ve experienced strong growth—both in the adoption of our platform and in the expansion of our team, which now includes more than 60 colleagues at our headquarters in Aarhus, including a growing engineering team of around 15 developers.
Our platform combines telecommunications, automation, and CRM functionality into an all-in-one solution that helps customers optimize their business through data-driven insights. High technical quality, strong ownership, and excellent user experiences are central to everything we do.
As our new Engineering People Manager, you’ll work closely with our engineering organization to support growth, collaboration, and long-term team health - including helping shape and scale the team through deliberate, fit-focused recruitment.
Your role is to build and maintain a healthy, high-performing engineering organization by owning the people-side of growth, development, and long-term team health. In the near term, this includes a strong focus on recruitment as we scale the team.
You will be accountable for:
Team health & collaboration: Actively shaping how engineers work together by surfacing patterns, addressing friction, and ensuring our direct, high-autonomy culture works in practice—not just in principle.
Team growth & recruitment: Leading hiring efforts during a period of active growth, ensuring we bring in engineers who can both contribute technically and thrive in how we work together.
People leadership & development: Supporting engineers through regular 1:1s, feedback, and growth conversations, with a clear focus on long-term development and retention.
Compensation & progression: Taking ownership of yearly salary and progression conversations, ensuring outcomes that are fair, transparent, and maintain trust.
We imagine you are a senior engineer or former developer who:
Has significant experience working in professional software development teams.
Is no longer interested in hands-on development as a primary responsibility, but cares deeply about how engineering teams function.
Is comfortable giving clear, honest feedback and handling difficult conversations.
Is interested in shaping teams over time, including shaping and scaling the team through deliberate, fit-focused recruitment.
Understands the realities of technical work well enough to earn trust from engineers.
Communicates confidently in English and can adapt your style to different personalities and situations.
Thrives in a flat organization with high autonomy, informal communication, and shared responsibility.
Experience in a formal people-management role is a plus, but not a requirement—the right mindset and background matter more than titles.
We offer a full-time role with a competitive salary package tailored to your qualifications and experience.
A role built on trust rather than policy, where we expect you to use your judgment and back you when decisions are uncomfortable but necessary.
Work environment: This role is based at our Aarhus office, where being present and accessible to the team is an important part of succeeding in the role. We’re flexible when it comes to occasional work-from-home days when it fits your work and life.
Benefits: Comprehensive health and dental insurance, pension scheme, and an IT setup customized to your preferences.
Perks: Choose Your Own Lunch catering, Friday bars, social events, and summer parties that reflect our informal and collaborative culture.
Impact: A key role in influencing how our engineering organization grows, collaborates, and supports its people over time.
Salary and terms are negotiated individually.
