Shine exists to help freelancers and small business owners reclaim the joy of working for themselves.
Running a business shouldn't mean drowning in financial admin - it should be inspiring and rewarding. Our app brings banking, invoicing, accounting and admin together in one place, so entrepreneurs can focus on what matters most: growing their business and enjoying the freedom of working for themselves.
We're a multicultural team of over 400 people across France, Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands. By bringing together leading European fintechs like Shine, Kontist and Tellow, we've built a single, intuitive platform designed for simplicity, speed and accuracy - backed by local, award-winning support.
Your hiring experience matters
Just as we respect our customers' time, we respect yours. Your experience with Shine should feel simple, transparent and genuinely supportive.
If this sounds like somewhere you want to grow, we'd love to hear from you.
To help Shine achieve its ambitious roadmap and company goals, our Product Design team is made up of 15 talented people across four areas: Staff Design, Copywriting, Banking, and Invoicing & Accounting, which you’ll be part of.
In this role, you’ll join the Invoicing domain and work closely with a cross-functional squad (Product, Engineering, Data, Ops) to improve how our customers create, manage and send invoices — across web and mobile.
Your direct manager will be David Mühlfeld, Head of Design (Invoices & Accounting), and you’ll partner day-to-day with your Product and Engineering counterparts within the squad.
You’ll drive UX/UI improvements across our Invoicing experience - optimizing existing flows, ensuring consistency, and supporting the delivery of new features. You’ll own end-to-end design work from discovery to shipped impact, and help the team measure outcomes and iterate.
Knowledge of e-invoicing is a strong plus given the evolving European regulatory landscape and Shine’s presence in markets where it is becoming mandatory.
Your responsibilities will include:
Own the full design process: opportunity framing → discovery → solution → delivery → measurement
Improve and iterate invoicing flows across web and mobile (core journeys, edge cases, error states)
Analyse user feedback and product data to identify opportunities and validate impact
Conduct UX audits of current experiences and relevant competitor patterns
Define success metrics with your PM and close the loop post-launch (impact + learnings)
Collaborate with UX writing/localization to keep experiences clear across markets
Contribute patterns to the design system and uphold design QA standards
Communicate design decisions clearly to stakeholders and support implementation
Participate in design rituals (crits, reviews, stand-ups) and raise craft while shipping pragmatically
