Chief Product & Technology Officer

Location: Copenhagen (hybrid)

Since our inception in 2015 in Denmark, Liva has been a pioneer in the field of digital behaviour change. Our ambition is to empower 1 million people by 2030 to improve their health and well-being by preventing and managing chronic conditions through digitally-powered, evidence-based lifestyle interventions.

Headquartered in Copenhagen and London, our collaborations with healthcare systems - including the NHS, life science companies and health insurers - allow us to impact lives at scale. In 2025 we acquired Momenta, a leading developer and provider of evidence-based, outcome driven, healthy lifestyle solutions that help people negotiate the many day-to-day challenges they face in living healthier lives, with a focus on weight management.

We are scaling a category-leading digital health platform for lifestyle-related chronic disease, combining SaaS, clinical programmes, and full-service care delivery across Europe and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

As we continue our growth journey, we are now seeking a Chief Product & Technology Officer (CPTO) to own the end-to-end product and technology strategy, execution, and platform evolution ensuring that Liva delivers clinically credible, regulator-ready, scalable products that create measurable outcomes for patients, providers, payers, and partners.

What you’ll be doing

This role unifies Product, Engineering, Data/AI, Platform, and Technology Operations under one accountable executive, ensuring tight alignment between clinical value, user experience, commercial scalability, and technical excellence.

Product strategy & portfolio leadership

  • Own and evolve Liva’s product vision and roadmap across our products

  • Translate company strategy into clear product bets, sequencing, and trade-offs

  • Balance platform scalability with market-specific requirements (public sector, enterprise, private care, GCC)

  • Ensure strong problem-solution fit for clinicians, coaches, patients, and enterprise buyers

Technology & platform leadership

  • Own the architecture, scalability, security, and reliability of Liva’s platform

  • Lead engineering teams across backend, frontend, mobile, integrations, and infrastructure

  • Ensure platform readiness for: Multi-market deployment, enterprise and public-sector scale, high availability and data integrity

  • Make pragmatic, long-term technology decisions (build vs buy, modularity, APIs, SDKs)

Clinical, regulatory & data foundations

  • Partner closely with Operations, Clinical and Legal, whilst also taking responsibility for Regulatory & Compliance to ensure: GDPR-compliant data handling, ISO-aligned security and quality processes, readiness for public procurement, payer audits, and due diligence

  • Ensure product supports outcomes tracking, evidence generation, and reporting

  • Build strong foundations for data analytics, AI-assisted coaching, and decision support

Delivery excellence & operating model

  • Establish a high-performing product and engineering operating model

  • Introduce best-in-class practices for: Discovery and validation, platform prioritisation, technical debt management

  • Ensure tight collaboration between Product, Engineering, Commercial, Operations, and Clinical teams

Leadership & culture

  • Build, lead, and mentor senior leaders across Product, Engineering, and Data

  • Create a culture of: Accountability, customer obsession, clinical respect, technical craftsmanship

  • Be a visible, credible leader internally and externally (partners, customers, investors), and an exemplar of our Values & Behaviours

Executive & external impact

  • Act as product and technology voice at board and investor level

  • Support: Commercial due diligence, enterprise sales cycles, strategic partnerships, M&A integration from a platform and product perspective

  • Represent Liva with credibility alongside CTOs, CPOs, CMOs, and CIOs at partners and customers

You’ll have:

  • Experience in product and technology leadership, including senior executive roles

  • Experience scaling digital health, health-tech, or regulated SaaS platforms

  • Proven track record of shipping complex products used by clinicians and/or patients

  • Strong understanding of: Healthcare workflows, data privacy and security, evidence, outcomes, and credibility requirements

  • Experience operating across multiple markets and regulatory environments

  • Comfort operating at both strategic and hands-on levels

As a leader you will be:

Strategic, but deeply pragmatic, and also:

  • Commercially aware and outcome-driven

  • Comfortable making hard prioritisation decisions

  • Respected by engineers, clinicians, and executives alike

  • Calm under pressure; credible in complexity

  • Mission-driven, with genuine respect for patients and healthcare professionals

  • Culturally aware, with experience of managing teams across multiple geographies

And hopefully you’ll also have:

  • Experience in service-enabled software or hybrid SaaS + care models

  • Exposure to public sector or payer-led healthcare systems (e.g. NHS-like environments)

  • Experience with AI-enabled products in a regulated context

  • Prior involvement in fundraising, board reporting, or M&A integration

Working at
Liva Healthcare

Liva is a platform and app for people living with chronic diseases such as obesity, kohl, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. The Liva team has previously created NetDoktor and other successful startups in the health sector, and now they’re eager to disrupt the market and offer more lifestyle-related treatment than regular healthcare does, moving away from purely medical treatment traditions. This happens through advanced digital personal guidance, lifestyle and disease tracking, user forum etc. We’re a small, dedicated team of skilled individuals, and we’re very flexible. Since knowledge sharing is the easiest when working in one room, we’ve agreed to work as much as possible from the office. If we can’t hire the best of the best people, we often prefer outsourcing our tasks. We place the social element at the heart of Liva, with a blast of a Christmas lunch (this year taking place at the Tivoli amusement park) and regular team dinners too. We set quarterly goals, and upon fulfilling them we celebrate by traveling together, going for luxury dining or the like. A startup like Liva is very uncomplicated and all individuals get a lot of decision making power. The need for our platform is here, this is clear since many customers have signed up before our actual product has launched - some have even told us they’ve been waiting for a product like this for 10 years.
