We are building a new AI-driven product from the ground up and are looking for a senior AI / LLM engineer to help define and build the core architecture from day one.
This is not a typical engineering role.
You will work closely with the founders and have real influence on system design, AI strategy, and long-term technical decisions.
We are intentionally keeping the product and company details high-level at this stage – the right person will get the full context early in the process.
Designing and building the end-to-end AI architecture from scratch
Owning how LLMs are prompted, orchestrated, and integrated into the product
Defining how models, tools, and agents interact (not just calling APIs)
Setting up robust API integrations and using external services correctly and securely
Making early, foundational decisions around scalability, observability, and reliability
Ensuring the system is built with data security, privacy, and regulatory constraints in mind (e.g., GDPR)
Working closely with founders on trade-offs between speed, quality, and long-term architecture
You are likely someone who:
Has strong hands-on experience with applied AI / LLMs (not just theory)
Understands how to prompt, structure, and constrain models for real products
Thinks in systems and architecture, not just isolated components
Has built or significantly shaped early-stage architectures before
Is comfortable designing and managing API-driven systems
Understands data handling, security, and compliance well enough to design responsibly from day one
Enjoys ambiguity and shaping the “right way” to build something – rather than following a fixed specification
Experience with cloud platforms, modern backend stacks, and AI tooling is expected, but good judgement and architectural thinking matter more than specific technologies.
You will influence foundational technical decisions — not just implementation
You will work on a product where AI is core, not a feature layered on top
You will help shape how intelligence, data, and systems work together
This is a long‐term build, not a short experiment or consultancy engagement
You will have the opportunity to obtain a significant ownership stake in the company, reflecting the importance of this role and the long‐term commitment
Depending on fit and interest, this role can evolve into a technical leadership position, with responsibility for building and leading a strong engineering team.
We’re not running a traditional hiring process. We’re looking to start a conversation with the right kind of builder.
If this sounds like you, we would love to connect.
