Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our product team and work closely with our wider engineering team.

In this role, you’ll report to the Director of Engineering and collaborate closely with the Senior Leadership Team on both product strategy and engineering execution. You’ll own end-to-end delivery across backend and infrastructure work—from early ideation through implementation, deployment, and monitoring.

Projects may include building REST APIs, integrating third-party services, evolving AWS infrastructure, and delivering other common backend capabilities that improve product reliability and performance.

Responsibilities

• Own backend and infrastructure projects end-to-end, from design through deployment and ongoing monitoring

• Build and maintain backend services and REST APIs

• Design, implement, and operate AWS infrastructure to support reliability, performance, and security

• Deliver common backend capabilities such as authentication/authorization, background jobs, data storage, and observability

• Integrate third-party APIs and build product integrations that expand user value

• Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product, and design to translate requirements into robust technical solutions

• Profile, troubleshoot, and optimize backend performance and operational stability

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices, maintainability, and engineering standards

• Help shape backend architecture decisions and contribute to the broader engineering strategy

Requirements

• Significant experience as a backend engineer in fast-paced, scaling environments

• Deep AWS knowledge, including hands-on experience designing and operating cloud infrastructure

• Strong experience building backend services (ideally in Go or Python)

• Comfortable working collaboratively with senior stakeholders across engineering, product, and design

• Strong ownership mindset, with the ability to drive work independently and deliver reliably

Nice to have

• Experience working with LLM-powered systems (e.g., orchestration, tooling, evaluation)

• Exposure to multi-agent systems or agentic workflows
