CTO and Co-Founder to HealthTech start-up focusing on Menstrual Health

About Enya Health

Enya Health is an early-stage health technology startup building a smart ring and app to help women better understand their menstrual cycle and hormonal health. By combining hardware, software, and science, we aim to make invisible health patterns visible and actionable.

More than ever before, women are interested in tracking and understanding their menstrual cycle. Today, the majority of women are disconnected from their menstrual cycle due to modern’s life stress, birth prevention and lack of information. As an example, ~80% of women don’t know when their monthly ovulation occurs, the main event in their menstrual cycle and a key health indicator. This lack of awareness is a contributing factor to the growing problem of hormonal diseases (~60% of women suffers from hormonal imbalances) and infertility worldwide (~15% of women). We are on a mission to change this.

We have been working on Enya Health for more than two years and have been actively developing the product for the past 10 months, covering both the electronic and mechanical parts of the product. We are very close to finalising our fully working / ready in looks prototype together with our external hardware development partner.

The team

Enya Health was founded by a strong and complementary founding team and is supported by experienced technical and scientific advisors. The current founding team consists of a professor in gynaecology, a data scientist, and a business developer. We work closely with an external hardware development partner, as well as with additional specialised collaborators, and have established ties to DTU HealthTech and other relevant research institutions.

We have secured initial funding from private investors and public grants and are preparing a larger pre-seed round in spring 2026 (whereafter we expect you to go full-time). Our ambition is to enter the market in late autumn 2026.

We are now looking for a CTO and Co-Founder who can take deep technical ownership of the product and play a central role in bringing our smart ring from a near-final prototype to production and market. The CTO will be responsible for the company’s full technical scope, including hardware, app development, and data, working closely with our data scientist and external partners.

The role

This is a hands-on CTO role, especially in the first phase, with a focus on hardware and integrated devices / wearables.

As CTO and Co-Founder, you will work very closely with our external hardware development partner and be directly involved in the technical design and decision-making. This includes working on schematics, iterating on electronics design, and contributing actively to the development and optimisation of the Flex PCB and overall system architecture.

You will have overall responsibility for Enya Health’s technology across hardware, firmware, app and software integration, while also being practically involved where it matters most.

This role is well-suited for someone with strong experience in hardware and integrated devices, who enjoys being close to the product and is motivated by building something tangible from prototype to market.

Key responsibilities

Hands-on hardware development

  • Work closely with our external hardware development partner on schematics, electronics design, and system architecture.

  • Actively contribute to the design, iteration, and optimisation of the Flex PCB and related components.

  • Ensure that hardware decisions support performance, size constraints, power consumption, and future production.

  • Lead technical testing, validation, and iteration of prototypes.

System integration

  • Own the integration between hardware, firmware, and software.

  • Ensure robust communication and data flow between the smart ring and the app.

  • Make architectural decisions that balance short-term execution with long-term scalability.

Technical leadership

  • Take overall responsibility for Enya Health’s technology stack.

  • Be the internal technical decision-maker and sparring partner for founders, advisors, and external partners.

  • Translate product requirements into concrete technical solutions and priorities.

Software oversight

  • Oversee app and backend development, even if you are not writing all the code yourself.

  • Work closely with external app developers and designers to ensure quality, security, and scalability.

  • Make informed decisions on technology stack, tooling, and development practices.

Execution & scale

  • Plan and prioritise technical work in line with company milestones and fundraising timelines.

  • Prepare the product technically for production and market entry.

  • Over time, build and scale the technical function, including future hires.

Background & experience

We care more about relevant experience than formal education. You likely bring:

  • Strong hands-on experience with hardware development, electronics, embedded systems, or similar.

  • Experience working with integrated devices such as wearables, medical devices, or other products where hardware and software are tightly connected.

  • Practical experience with schematics, PCB design (including Flex PCB or very compact electronics), and system-level trade-offs.

  • Experience collaborating closely with external development partners or suppliers.

  • Comfort taking ownership and making technical decisions in an early-stage environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience taking a hardware product from prototype to production.

  • Experience in health technology or regulated products.

  • Startup or scale-up experience.

How you work

  • You enjoy being close to the product and are comfortable getting your hands dirty.

  • You are pragmatic, structured, and execution-oriented.

  • You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • You are motivated by ownership, responsibility, and long-term impact.

What we offer

  • CTO & Co-Founder role in an ambitious HealthTech startup.

  • Significant influence on product, technology, and company direction.

  • Significant equity as part of the co-founder role, with salary as the company transitions into full-time execution following pre-seed fundraising (note no salary before pre-seed raise completed - expected in august 2026)

  • A flexible working setup and a highly mission-driven team.

  • The opportunity to help bring a category-defining hardware product to market.
