Co-founder CTO (Build the platform, co-found Dimmi)

Immigration law is a maze and European companies are desperate for novel solutions. Dimmi is building a legaltech platform that makes employment immigration radically simpler, faster, and more reliable for companies—starting in Denmark. Dimmi started as a research- and innovation project at the University of Copenhagen, now preparing to launch as a spin-out company during 2026. We are currently soft-funded by the UCPH Innovation Centre Lighthouse, and based at the Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen (UCPH).

We’re looking for a Co-founder CTO to work closely together with project-lead Christian Prener, a legal researcher with deep expertise in migration law and global mobility.  You will take full technical ownership and build the product into something companies will love.

The Role

You will be CTO and technical co-founder. You will lead our product engineering end-to-end: turn a working prototype into a real, secure, scalable platform. This includes building:

  • LLM/RAG layer + “legal knowledge” pipeline: design how we structure sources, retrieve, ground, and trace outputs.

  • Workflow product: case/app management, document handling, audit trails, permissions, and collaboration.

  • Security & compliance by default: GDPR, access control, logging, vendor risk, data minimisation.

  • Hiring & leadership: recruit first engineers when the timing is right, build the culture, set standards.

  • Co-founder work: strategy, investor readiness, execution discipline, and hard trade-offs.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong backend + systems thinking. You can design clean data models and robust workflows.

  • Comfortable building with modern AI components

  • You move fast, think independently, and work well in a small, bootstrapped team

  • You want co-founder ownership: responsibility, autonomy, and upside.

Ideally you have

  • Experience with B2B SaaS in regulated domains (fintech, health, legal, gov).

  • Search/retrieval systems

  • Security/compliance experience

  • Interest in legal infrastructure, migration and cross-border employment.

What you get

  • Co-founder of Dimmi with equity and real authority over the build.

  • Close collaboration with project lead, Christian Prener

  • Work place at UCPH in the center of Copenhagen with strong proximity to research, talent, and an innovation

  • Hybrid is possible.

  • Start: as soon as it makes sense.

  • Stage: pre-seed building phase; MVP building, focus on launching a pilot-ready product.

Reach out if interested to learn more.

Best regards,

Christian

Dimmi

Dimmi is an early-stage Danish legaltech SaaS start-up revolutionising how European companies navigate the complexities of immigration law across the European Union. Companies across Europe are increasingly in need of international labour and talent. Yet navigating immigration law and obtaining work permits is highly challenging and costly for companies of all sizes. Combining unique research and legal insight into migration law and global mobility with augmented retrieval technology, Dimmi is building the first-ever digital infrastructure for end-to-end case handling of international hires, making legal immigration compliance fast, easy, and cost-predictable. From guiding users through the most viable visa track, deadlines, and documentation requirements, Dimmi empowers companies to file compliant applications to the authorities faster, cheaper and with higher rates of compliance. Dimmi is a spin-out company pioneered by a research project conducted by research conducted at the University of Copenhagen, Center of Excellence for Global Mobility Law by Dr Christian Prener with aim of resolving the major legal and financial bottlenecks that European companies face when hiring candidates from outside of the EU. The project is funded by Lighthouse, University of Copenhagen’s innovation centre and currently based at the University of Copenhagen. We are in search of a co-founding CTO to lead the development of the technical platform in collaboration with the Alexandra Institute. Both junior and senior product architects and software developers are encouraged to reach out to hear more.
