The Role:
Tech Leads at Spirii are technical enablers who create the conditions for their teams to build scalable, secure, high-quality software, and to do so with autonomy, clarity, and confidence. You will guide architectural thinking, coach engineers, facilitate informed decision-making, and ensure the team is aligned with strategic intent. Your success is measured not by the decisions you make, but by the decisions your team can make without you. You’ll collaborate closely with product development teams, internal stakeholders, near-shore colleagues, and external partners. Reporting to one of our Engineering Managers, you’ll ensure we deliver high-performance, secure, and scalable software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Context & Intent
Help the team deeply understand the “why” behind initiatives and the outcomes we are aiming for.
Set clear technical intent and enabling constraints without prescribing solutions.
2. Coherent Planning
Co-plan initiatives within the Product Trio (Product Manager, Product Designer, Tech Lead).
Ensure technical initiatives support both product goals and long-term platform health.
3. Technical Leadership & Architecture
Facilitate architectural discussions, guide trade-off analysis, and ensure RFCs/ADRs capture reasoning.
Lead solution design and system performance improvements while empowering others to contribute.
Promote scalable, maintainable, and secure system architecture.
4. Code Quality, Testing, Security& Standards
Champion best practices for coding standards, design patterns, and review processes.
Lead the adoption of automated testing and ensure high-quality releases.
Coach the team on writing clean, reliable, secure code—instead of being a PR gatekeeper.
Guide the team in building secure-by-design systems.
5. Quality & Flow
Monitor system health using dashboards, fitness reviews, and performance metrics.
Identify and remove obstacles slowing the team down.
Improve flow by enabling shared ownership and reducing dependencies on any single person.
6. Coaching & Mentorship
Grow engineers’ architectural literacy, decision-making abilities, and systems thinking.
Foster a culture of trust, candid feedback, and servant leadership.
Lead by example in collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
7. Cross-Team Alignment
Represent the team in Guilds and the Tech Lead forum.
Ensure knowledge flows between teams and that decisions are consistent across the platform.
Drive cross-team collaboration to deliver integrated, end-to-end solutions.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
6+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience in developing microservices and cloud-based solutions.
Expertise in TypeScript or JavaScript (Node.js, Nest.js) and cloud environments like AWS.
Familiarity with test-driven development, test automation, and deployment in cloud infrastructure.
Experience with ElasticSearch, queues, non-SQL datastores, and high-scale applications.
Advantageous: Experience with Stripe, Mobilepay and Financial Flows.
Advantageous: Experience with OCPI.
