Media & Content Intern

Salary Unpaid

About the Role

We are an early-stage equestrian media startup with a broader mission, focused on storytelling, personal branding, performance, culture, and inspiration. Social media is a core part of how this platform will grow, connect with its audience, and build momentum.

We are looking for a Social Media Intern who wants to help build and shape our social media presence from the ground up. This is a hands-on role where you will be involved in both strategy and execution across short-form platforms such as TikTok, Instagram (Reels and Stories), and other emerging formats.

This role is ideal for someone who is excited by creating something from a blank page and wants real responsibility, creative freedom, and ownership.

What You’ll Do

You will work closely with the team to develop and execute our social media efforts, with a strong focus on short-form video and personal branding.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Helping shape and execute the overall social media strategy

  • Building a short-form content ecosystem across TikTok, Instagram, Reels, Stories, and Shorts

  • Developing and executing a marketing initiative around branding, storytelling, and visibility

  • Creating, editing, and publishing engaging short-form video content

  • Translating long-form content such as podcasts, interviews, and conversations into strong social clips

  • Staying on top of trends, formats, sounds, and platform changes

  • Experimenting with content that is commercial, inspirational, and community-driven

  • Helping define and evolve the visual identity and tone of voice on social media

  • Engaging with the audience and supporting community growth

You will take part in content creation together with the team, including filming, ideation, and planning. Editing, posting, and optimization can be done remotely.

Working in a Startup Environment

This is an early-stage startup built from a blank page. There is room to create, test, and shape, but fewer fixed structures.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is comfortable taking initiative and moving ideas forward

  • Can lead their own work while collaborating closely with a team

  • Enjoys creating structure where it does not yet exist

  • Likes sharing ideas, testing them, learning fast, and improving

You will not be left alone. Collaboration and sparring are part of the process, but you will have real ownership. This role suits someone with an internal drive to build and develop, rather than wait for detailed instructions.

Who You Are

  • Interested in social media, content creation, and digital storytelling

  • Curious, creative, and motivated by building something from scratch

  • On top of trends and understands how short-form content works

  • Studying, working, or building experience within social media, marketing, communication, media, or similar

  • Comfortable working independently while being part of a collaborative team

Equestrian experience is not required, but always welcome.

What matters most is your understanding of social platforms, creativity, and motivation to build.

Working at
The Stable Hour

We are building a premium equestrian media company focused on long-form, high-quality conversations about performance, horse welfare, psychology, and the business realities of modern equestrian sport. The equestrian industry is performance-driven and highly traditional, yet many of the most important topics shaping daily practice ; such as decision-making, responsibility, pressure, and long-term horse welfare, are often discussed superficially or not at all. Existing content tends to prioritize results, entertainment, or extremes, leaving little space for nuanced and experience-based dialogue. Our platform addresses this gap by producing well-moderated conversations with riders, professionals, and industry participants who have direct experience with the sport. The focus is on practical insight, reflection, and real-world decision-making rather than opinions or simplified narratives. By raising the quality and depth of equestrian media, we aim to support better understanding, more informed choices, and a more sustainable culture within the sport , for both horses and the people working with them.
