Salary Competitive

Help shape the platform used by commodity traders across the world - from Copenhagen to São Paulo, Geneva, Dubai and beyond.

Why This Role Matters

CM Navigator is growing fast - more users, more markets, more data, more complexity.

To keep the momentum, we’re looking for a Full Stack Developer who can strengthen and extend the core of the product: web platform, APIs, and the technical backbone that powers decision-making for commodity traders globally.

You’ll join a small, ambitious team with a startup mentality - backed by a financially strong, family-owned group (Copenhagen Merchants Group) with almost 50 years in global trade and logistics.

It’s the sweet spot: startup speed, real-world impact, long-term stability.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll work across the stack - and across the business - turning market needs and data insights into a reliable, fast, and user-friendly platform.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Developing and evolving our web and mobile frontends in React and Next.js

  • Building and maintaining backend services and APIs in Go (GoLang) used by global clients

  • Running and improving our Kubernetes setup to ensure scale, stability, and uptime

  • Working with PostgreSQL as the core database behind the platform

  • Collaborating with our data team (Python notebooks, pipelines, models) to turn insights into features

  • Exploring and integrating LLM/AI capabilities into the product where it adds real value

  • Working closely with product and commercial teams to make sure we solve problems that matter to traders, operators, and analysts

You’ll be the person who helps turn ideas, data, and market needs into a robust, user-friendly platform.

Who We Think You Are

A developer who likes to understand why something is built - not just how.

You enjoy owning things end-to-end, designing clean architecture, and getting energy from shipping things that real users rely on.

We imagine you bring:

  • 3+ years as a software engineer / full stack developer

  • Experience from a SaaS and B2B product environment

  • Solid experience with React + Next.js

  • Experience with Go (GoLang) or strong backend experience and willingness to learn Go

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes or willingness to learn it

  • Hands on experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases

  • Comfort designing and working with APIs

  • Curiosity about markets, trading, and global “physical” supply chains

  • Interest in data features, dashboards, analytics, and working with data engineers

  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken)

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience integrating LLMs via API (OpenAI or similar)

  • Experience with commodity/logistics/financial markets

  • Familiarity with Python notebooks (Jupyter) and data workflows

But above all: you build. And you make things happen.

Part of Something Bigger

Yes ... CM Navigator is a small team.

But we’re not “alone.”

We’re integrated into Copenhagen Merchants Group, giving you:

  • stable family ownership (long term perspective)

  • financial strength

  • access to freight, logistics, terminals, and global trade expertise

  • a unique SaaS solution sitting inside a commercial ecosystem you rarely find elsewhere

… and not at least the Culture Guardian, T.W. Heart.

It’s a rare combination: startup agility + group-level robustness.

The Setup You’ll Step Into

You’ll work at the intersection of tech, data, and real-world commodity markets - not hypothetical use-cases.

You’ll join a small, international team with:

  • Strong mandate and influence over the product

  • Short decision paths and direct access to leadership

  • High ownership over your work and the codebase

  • Freedom to explore new tools, technologies, and AI capabilities

  • A culture built on trust, clarity, and collaboration

  • The chance to help shape both your own development, the platform and the way we build it

Preferred location: Copenhagen

Ready to talk?

If the mix of SaaS, global markets, and building things that matter speaks to you - we’d love to hear from you.

Upload your CV and feel free to include:

  • Your GitHub or links to work and projects you’re proud of

  • A short written introduction/motivation on why this role should have your name on it. And if you dare to go the extra mile, include a quick video (max. 60 seconds)

Working at
CM Navigator A/S

CM Navigator A/S – part of Copenhagen Merchants Group - is the company behind the digital platform for market intelligence and decision support in the agri-commodity and freight sectors – CM Navigator. Founded by Copenhagen Merchants Group, CM Navigator was initially developed in-house (starting around 2018) to aggregate the wealth of tacit market knowledge held by the group’s brokers and shipping experts. It was subsequently launched as a commercial SaaS platform in 2022 and later incorporated as an independent company in 2023 (while remaining majority-owned by CM Group). What it offers: CM Navigator provides real-time data and analytics tools to track commodity markets and logistics: • Live Prices & Global Benchmarks: Users get daily updated prices from major export regions (North America, South America, Europe, Black Sea, Australia, etc.) and a global CFR price matrix covering 600+ destinations, allowing easy comparison of origin competitiveness. This helps traders see, for example, how US corn fob prices plus freight compare to Brazilian corn into a given import market. • Freight Forecasting: The platform includes advanced freight tools that let users search among 250,000+ bulk freight routes with up to 12-month forward curves. This essentially functions as an instant freight rate calculator: a trader can input a specific load port and discharge port (or even a combination for multi-leg trades) and get current freight cost estimates and future rates. Such capability, drawn from Navi Merchants’ data, simplifies evaluating the delivered cost of commodities. • Supply/Demand & Trade Flows: CM Navigator continuously updates global supply and demand balances for key crops, and tracks trade flows. It integrates official data with on-the-ground insights (e.g., port line-up information) to give an up-to-date picture of export/import volumes and stock levels. This dynamic data can alert users to changes (such as a sudden surge in Ukrainian wheat exports or a drought cutting Argentine soy supply) much faster than traditional reports. • News & Insights: The platform delivers relevant news flashes and in-house analysis. For instance, it might highlight policy changes, weather events, or logistical issues affecting markets, along with commentary from CM’s analysts. Users also receive reports like grain export summaries or freight market outlooks, helping them stay ahead in volatile markets. Strategic purpose: The creation of CM Navigator reflects the group’s goal to “empower traders of all sizes in all countries” by democratizing access to high-quality market data. It takes the tacit knowledge that Copenhagen Merchants accumulated (through decades of brokerage and logistics operations) and scales it via technology. Internally, the platform ensures CM’s own teams and key clients operate with the same up-to-date information. Externally, it has become a new revenue stream and value proposition, attracting subscribers from the wider industry. By providing transparency and decision-support, CM Navigator strengthens Copenhagen Merchants Group’s role as an information broker. Its strategic goal is to be the go-to platform for anyone looking for integrated data on grains and freight, thereby enhancing market efficiency and extending the group’s influence in the digital domain.
