PARGO is a Danish tech company building AI-powered tools that help drivers understand parking rules and avoid unnecessary parking fines. Parking regulations are complex, fragmented, and often unclear. We use computer vision, OCR, and rule-based reasoning to turn real-world parking signs and regulations into clear, actionable guidance for end-users.
Our ambition is simple, yet ambitious: make parking rules understandable, reliable, and legally correct - anywhere in Denmark.
We’re looking for an AI/ML Engineer with a strong interest in Computer Vision and OCR to help build and evolve PARGO’s parking-sign interpretation platform. You’ll be a core part of the team and have real influence on how we design, build, and improve our AI-driven systems, from early ideas to production.
We don’t expect you to know everything on day one; curiosity, ownership, and a willingness to learn matter most.
You’ll primarily work on improving PARGO’s AI models for analyzing parking signs from real-world photos:
Fine-tuning YOLO models for better detection and classification of parking signs and symbols
Fine-tuning OCR models to accurately extract Danish parking text, including time ranges and special characters
Analyzing model errors and improving training data, annotation strategy, preprocessing, and robustness
Working with real production data and seeing your improvements directly impact end-users
You’ll work hands-on with production AI systems, not toy examples.
Some experience with Python and AI / machine-learning systems
Hands-on interest in computer vision, especially YOLO or similar models
Interest in OCR and text recognition, preferably PaddleOCR, and improving accuracy on real-world data
Interest in datasets and model quality, including annotation strategy, data validation, scoring, and evaluation
A pragmatic, curious mindset - you enjoy iterating on models and improving them based on real failure cases
As a person, you:
Are honest and value your time (and our time)
Are passionate about building robust systems that help real users
Are comfortable learning new tools and curious about emerging technologies
Are eager to learn and grow - there’s plenty of opportunity for that at PARGO
Be part of shaping PARGO’s core AI models as the product moves from early stage toward wider real-world use
Work with real user data and real-world images, not synthetic datasets
See your improvements directly help users understand parking rules and avoid fines
Flexible hours and a high degree of autonomy
Opportunity to continue in a longer-term or full-time role as PARGO grows
You’ll join PARGO at a stage where core technical decisions still matter. We work pragmatically and iteratively, test, learn, improve, with open communication and fast feedback loops.
Along the way, you’ll gain hands-on experience with production-grade computer vision and OCR systems, data quality challenges, and what it takes to make AI work reliably in the real world.
