At Bodil Energi, we’re on a mission to turn everyday electric devices into active participants in the energy system. Our software controls a large and growing portfolio of energy units — from heat pumps to electric water heaters — and we’re developing the technology that helps balance the power grid and accelerate society’s electrification.
We’re now looking for a Junior Software Developer (student assistant, 10–15 hours per week) to join our small but highly skilled team. You’ll help us develop new features, build integrations for new types of energy devices, and ensure our control platform continues to scale as we onboard more customers and partners.
This is a great opportunity for someone who already has a bit of coding experience and wants to apply their skills to real-world systems that make a tangible environmental impact.
Develop and maintain features in our energy control platform
Implement integrations with new energy devices and third-party systems
Work with our developers to ensure reliable communication between cloud software and field hardware
Support the deployment and monitoring of devices in production
Collaborate on improving developer tools, CI/CD setup, and internal workflows
You’ll be working with technologies like TypeScript, Node.js, React, Docker, and Google Cloud — but don’t worry, you’ll get plenty of help to learn our stack as you go.
You are currently studying software development, computer science, or a related field
You have hands-on experience writing code — ideally in TypeScript or JavaScript
You’re familiar with Git and Docker, and understand basic software workflows
You enjoy problem solving and are curious about how software interacts with real-world hardware
You like working independently but value feedback and collaboration
You’re motivated by building technology that has a positive environmental impact
If you’ve worked on personal projects, contributed to open source, or built something you’re proud of — we’d love to hear about it!
Flexible working hours (10–15 hours/week)
Office in central Copenhagen, just by Nørreport Station
A chance to work with real devices and real customers — not just code in isolation
Exposure to the full development process, from backend systems to on-site installations
A small, collaborative, and mission-driven team
The opportunity to contribute to the green transition in a very direct way
You’ll be joining a company where your work has immediate impact. We move fast, test new ideas often, and believe in learning by doing.
Bodil Energi builds technology that helps stabilize the electricity grid and accelerate the green transition. Our platform connects to heat pumps, electric water heaters, and other devices, allowing them to participate in system services such as FCR and aFRR — services that ensure the grid remains balanced as renewable energy grows.
By making small consumers flexible, we’re helping create a smarter, more sustainable energy system — one where every connected device can play a role in keeping the lights on.
