You'll be our first engineering hire, working directly with the founding team to build the core product. This isn't a "take a ticket and ship it" role. You'll shape our technical direction, architecture, and engineering culture.
Build and own full-stack features end-to-end in our TypeScript/Next.js application
Design, orchestrate and implement AI-powered workflows that proactively surface legal tasks and insights
Architect scalable systems using our modern stack: Postgres (Supabase), Trigger.dev, Tailwind, and shadcn/ui
Work with vector databases, embeddings, and LLM integrations to make legal operations intelligent and contextual
Build integrations with tools legal teams already use (email, Slack, document systems, etc.)
Ship fast, iterate based on user feedback, and help define what "delightful legal operations" looks like
Make key technical decisions that will impact the product for years to come
We work with modern, proven technologies:
Frontend: Next.js 15, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui
Backend: Trigger.dev, Drizzle ORM, Postgres (Supabase)
AI/ML: AI SDK, embeddings, vector search, agentic workflows
Infrastructure: Vercel, modern deployment pipelines
Integrations: Email, document parsing, third-party APIs
Ship fast, learn faster: We're building and iterating based on real user feedback
Own your work: From idea to deployment, you'll drive features end-to-end
User obsession: We're solving real problems for real people who are overwhelmed by legal complexity
Pragmatic quality: We write clean code with high seperation of concerns, but we don't over-engineer
Transparent by default: Everyone knows what everyone's working on, and why
We care about what you can do and who you are, not where you went to school.

Most importantly
Owner mentality: You take initiative, see problems before they become problems, and drive projects to completion
User empathy: You genuinely care about building something people love using
Scrappy and resourceful: You get things done with limited resources and don't need everything to be perfect
Comfortable with uncertainty: Pre-seed startups are chaotic. You're energized by that, not scared of it
Competitive salary that reflects your experience and position
Significant equity as a founding team member you'll have meaningful ownership
Direct impact: Your work will shape the product, company, and culture from day one
Work with the founding team: No layers of management, just direct collaboration with people who care deeply about what we're building
