Join Fauna Smart Technologies ApS β a Copenhagen-based, ESA-awarded company turning science into smart farming π±
We are looking for a Programmer / AI Engineer to join our European Space Agency (ESA) project application β submission on 31st October β and continue with us into implementation (2025/2026).
For the past 5 years, weβve been awarded and funded by the European Space Agency (ESA) for developing remote-sensing-based solutions for horticulture and forestry. Our technology β the Early Warning Prediction and Prevention Platform β empowers growers to act before pests and diseases become visible, reducing inputs, emissions, and losses. Recognized by the European Association of Remote Sensing Companies (EARSC) with three awards (2022β2023), we are now expanding this innovation to vineyards β where creativity and data meet to build a resilient Danish wine culture.
We are developing an Early Warning Prediction and Prevention Platform for Vineyards that helps growers monitor and prevent pest and disease outbreaks through layered technologies:
πΊοΈ Pest Risk Map β Diagnostics powered by satellite imagery (Sentinel-1/2/3, PlanetScope, SkySat), showing in-field risk zones (green = safe, orange = mild risk, red = high risk).
π Knowledge Database β Data-driven recommendations derived from plant science and AI-based inference, linking risks to field solutions.
π Digital Field Book β Digital documentation of sustainable practices, enabling traceability and compliance with green-transition goals.
π COβ Points (Future Feature) β Tokenization of regenerative and sustainable actions for market and subsidy recognition.
You will be part of our ESA proposal and, upon approval, take an active role in developing the platform. Weβre looking for someone who:
Is fluent in Python, ML/AI, and preferably Remote Sensing / Geospatial Data Analysis
Has experience with satellite data pipelines (Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2, Sentinel-3, PlanetScope, or similar)
Enjoys working in interdisciplinary teams (scientists, agronomists, engineers)
Is curious, creative, and deadline-driven
Can join immediately for the ESA proposal submission (by 31 October)
Opportunity to co-develop a funded ESA project with long-term potential
Work with a recognized European award-winning team
A bridge between science, AI, and nature
Collaboration with leading Danish and EU partners
Flexible, hybrid work (Copenhagen / remote)
This position is open to candidates residing in Denmark.
Application submission to ESA: 31 October 2025
Project start: December 2025 / January 2026
If this excites you, reach out immediately β time is short, but the mission is bold.
Letβs make Danish vineyards thrive β from satellites to soil. ππ
