At MapsPeople, we’re looking to expand the MapsPeople Finance team with a driven Business Controller with a strong interest in legal to join our team in the Copenhagen office in Kødbyen.
You will combine your solid finance skills with a curiosity and drive to also be part of legal support for the company and to work with the different business owners on business development. In this role, you will work closely with our CFO, Finance Manager and Finance Assistant.
As our Finance Manager is going on maternity leave (Jan-Aug 2026), you will be involved in the financial processes of the company including month-end reporting and overseeing daily financial operations. We believe this period will serve as a good training in getting to know the business.
As Business Controller your key responsibilities will be:
Strategic Financial Planning & Reporting: You'll build and manage key SaaS metrics (MRR, churn, LTV/CAC), own the financial forecasting process, and deliver strategic financial reports to the executive team and board.
Business Partnership & Decision Support: You will act as an advisor to department heads, providing financial insights to inform critical decisions related to product pricing, marketing spend, and operational efficiency to drive profitable growth.
Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Due Diligence: You will play a role in evaluating potential acquisition targets by conducting financial due diligence, creating valuation models, and integrating the acquired company's financials post-acquisition.
Commercial Legal Support: You will provide ad-hoc legal support, assisting with commercial contract reviews and managing legal matters related to day-to-day business operations.
While temping for the Finance Manager your key responsibilities will also include:
Financial Operations & Reporting: You will oversee the day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll across our 4 group companies. You'll also be responsible for preparing and presenting accurate financial monthly reports to leadership.
Cash Flow Management & Forecasting: You will manage and forecast the company's cash flow to ensure we have the necessary capital for our daily operations and future growth.
Team Leadership & Process Improvement: You will manage a small team, providing guidance and support to ensure financial processes are efficient and accurate. You will also lead initiatives to improve financial systems and workflows as we scale.
External Partner Management: You will serve as the primary point of contact for external partners, including auditors, tax professionals, and banking institutions, ensuring all compliance and reporting requirements are met.
We expect you to bring solid experience from a similar role in an international company, or alternatively 4–5 years of experience in the audit industry. You have completed your Bachelor (HD) or a similar financial qualification and are confident in handling complex financial processes. You are fluent in both Danish and English, and you are willing to travel occasionally.
At MapsPeople, you’ll step into a role with both responsibility and variety. You’ll be part of a growing international company where finance and legal are closely connected to strategic decisions. You’ll work side by side with the CFO, giving you a unique opportunity to influence both operational and strategic tasks.
We offer a competitive compensation package that matches your qualifications, as well as flexitime, lunch, pension scheme, and healthcare plans.
