Creative Web Designer Wanted to Refresh Our Digital Home

Salary Unpaid

We’re looking for a creative and hands-on Web Designer (Squarespace) to help us refresh and update our current website, which is overdue for a makeover.

This is a freelance/project-based role, with the potential to evolve into ongoing collaboration as we grow.

What you’ll do

  • Work closely with the founding team to refresh and elevate our current Squarespace website.

  • Update and modernize the site to improve usability, design, and overall user experience.

  • Ensure the site clearly reflects our brand identity, product, and vision.

  • Optimize layout, visuals, and navigation to create a more engaging and conversion-friendly experience.

  • Suggest and implement improvements across UX, content structure, and basic SEO.

  • Support with ongoing updates and iterations as we test, learn, and grow.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience designing and updating websites in Squarespace (this is a must).

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating clean, modern, user-friendly design.

  • Ability to work within an existing structure and elevate it without starting from scratch.

  • Solid understanding of UX/UI principles and responsive design.

  • A proactive mindset — someone who suggests improvements, not just executes tasks.

Nice to have

  • Basic front-end skills (HTML/CSS) for custom tweaks.

  • Experience working with early-stage startups or brand building.

  • An eye for visual storytelling, branding, or light graphic design.

What we offer

  • A flexible, project-based setup with room for ongoing collaboration.

  • Flexible working hours with a strong focus on work–life–startup balance — we understand that people have lives, studies, and other commitments alongside this.

  • A culture built on trust, ownership, and clear expectations, rather than rigid structures or micromanagement.

  • The opportunity to have a real impact on a growing startup’s digital presence.

  • Close collaboration with the founders and insight into building a brand from the ground up.

If you’re passionate about creating clean, modern, and user-friendly websites, we’d love to hear from you!

BuddyUp Social

BuddyUp Social is a social discovery platform helping adults in Denmark—especially expats and newcomers—find meaningful connections through shared interests and real-life events. We’re solving the problem of adult social isolation by making it easy to create, join, and engage in hobby-based meetups, all through one intuitive app. Making friends as an adult can be surprisingly difficult. Whether you're a Dane moving to a new city or an expat starting fresh in Denmark, it’s common to feel socially disconnected. Many adults don’t know where to start when it comes to meeting new people outside of work, dating apps, or closed social circles. This problem is widespread and well-documented—especially in Denmark, where surveys consistently show that many internationals struggle with social integration, and even locals describe it as awkward to make new friends past a certain age. We’re tackling this head-on by making socializing more accessible, interest-based, and low-pressure. BuddyUp Social is designed to break down the barriers of adult friendship and create opportunities for spontaneous, real-world connection. Whether it’s joining a hike, hosting a board game night, attending a ceramics class, or finding a casual pub quiz crew, BuddyUp is all about connecting people who are "up for it"—with no pressure, no awkward messaging phase, and no algorithms getting in the way. Unlike traditional social platforms focused on digital interaction, BuddyUp is built around real-life meetups. Users can explore and join events happening near them, or create their own. Events can be public or invite-only, recurring or one-off, and are always centered around shared hobbies or interests. The app also welcomes collaborations with local businesses, allowing them to showcase open community events, bringing even more variety and accessibility to users. We’re launching in Denmark first—starting with Copenhagen and Aarhus—before expanding to similar cities across Europe. The idea behind BuddyUp was born from personal experience. As someone who returned to Denmark after years abroad, and with friends struggling to meet people after relocating, it became clear how socially challenging adulthood can be. We kept hearing the same story: “I’d love to meet new people, but I just don’t know how or where.” Instead of settling for outdated forums, clunky Facebook groups, or apps not designed for platonic connection, we decided to build a better solution ourselves. BuddyUp is more than an app—it’s a movement to make adult friendship and community-building normal, easy, and enjoyable again. We’re passionate about creating a product that helps people feel less alone and more empowered to take the first step toward new friendships. We believe that real-life connections are essential for personal happiness and social wellbeing—and we’re here to make those moments happen.
